Are Social Networking Sites safe?

If they are not following the protocols, surely there is no secure and it will be danger.
First discuss with the members of the site and ask about the site's response and aim of the site.There is no secure if you find, don't get member ship and don't recommend to others also.

We cannot find that, in which way the troubles will come. Be careful with that kinds of web sites.

Social Networking sites have different levels of privacy and the user has to decide. For example,in orkut there is a setting like "Unknown people cannot view/post in your scrapbook.Only if they are friends,they have permission to scrap".If this setting is enabled, then scraps from unknown persons can be avoided.Also the photos of the members can be made visible only to their friends.

It is always better not to share too much personal information in social networking sites.The hackers may use it. Other than this,i could not see any danger in using social networking sites.

Do not share personal informations on the Social networking sites. Do not accept unknown people as your friends. Make sure you the the privacy policies read clearly and set to locked for unknown people.

Not all social networks are safe. WE must be very careful to choose the membership of a social network. Because they want a lot of personal information from us. However they are providing different customized settings to show your information to the outer world. Ok ! It is fine. But one thing you should notice that these sites are having all your information at their server. It can be hacked any time. Hackers and crackers are very smart. They can catch your data in between. so be careful.

You will find a lot of invitation from different people. Don't accept that. Whoever it may be the handsome or beauty queen. Don't get wooed by them.

Some time employer also keep track of their employees social network access. If found any critical or objectionable information, they can get punished also. It already happened many times.

Beware of the social network websites.

I hadn't really understood the use of social networking sites till now.Here I find many uploading their different photoes to such networks.You can keep it online not to be lost.But I think you may keep it to see you only.All your photoes making visible to all the world is not good one.Remember technology is growing fast and cannot say in which form the photo shared by you comes tomorrow in front of the world.There is no ethics and morality in cyber world.Even if you put them to get you only don't put some 'private' photoes as hackers can hack any server and bring all the data to light.

Almost all the members of social networking sites do not read the TOS and Agreements. So they ended in confusion that their photos or information are hacked or sold to other sites.
