Factors which are Responsible for Causing Hypertension

Hypertension can be caused by various factors. There are various causative factors which cause hypertension and also predisposes to hypertension and also increases your chances of suffering from hypertension.

         

Hypertension is a scientific term which is used when systolic blood pressure goes above 140mmHg and diastolic blood pressure goes above 90mmHg. Yes, you get it right, when the systolic blood pressure of human body goes above 140mmHg and diastolic blood pressure goes above 90mmHg, then, this diseased condition of body is known as hypertension . Normal blood pressure of human body is 120mmHg systolic and 80mmHg diastolic. In hypertension , blood pressure gets altered from its normal value of blood pressure and goes above 140mmHg systolic and above 90mmHg diastolic.

Hypertension can be caused by various factors. The various causative factors which cause hypertension and also predisposes to hypertension and also increases your chances of suffering from hypertension are-

1. Obesity-
Obesity is number one causative factor which causes hypertension. Obese people have fat deposits at various places in their blood vessels which narrow internal diameter of blood vessels which ultimately lead to higher blood pressure that is hypertension.

2. Atherosclerosis-
Atherosclerosis is also one of the causative factors which cause high blood pressure that is hypertension. Atherosclerosis is a cardiovascular disease which has obesity as its one of the causative factor and hypertension as its one of the symptoms. Blood pressure also gets increased in atherosclerosis disease. It is one of the symptoms of atherosclerosis disease.

3. Ischaemic heart disease-
Ischaemic heart disease is also one of the cardiovascular diseases in which the blood pressure gets increased to higher level from its normal range. Hypertension that is high blood pressure is one of the main, common and persistent symptom of ischaemic heart disease.

4. Myocardial infarction-
Myocardial infarction also has hypertension, that is, high blood pressure as its one of the main, most common and persistent symptom. That is blood pressure always remain high in myocardial infarction.

5. Smoking-
Smoking not only does damage to your blood vessels but also increases your blood pressure and hence causes hypertension.

6. Stress-
Stress is also the one of the causative factor of high blood pressure.

7. Fatty diet-
Consumption of fat rich diet, fried foods which are rich in fat increases your blood cholesterol, which gets deposited in your arteries and ultimately increases your blood pressure and hence causes hypertension.

8. Alcohol intake-
Excessive alcohol intake also increases blood pressure that is causes hypertension.

9. High sodium content diet-
Eating canned foods, canned fruits and canned drinks which are high in sodium content above the normal range can cause hypertension. Excessive intake of sodium in diet above the normal range do imbalance the homeostatic system of human body and hence causes high blood pressure that is hypertension.

10. Less exercise-
Less or no exercise combined with consumption of heavy fatty diet daily causes hypertension.

11. Heredity-
Heredity is also one of the causative factors of hypertension. Some people inherit this disease condition from their parents in their genes.

12. Age-
Earlier, hypertension occurs in people of old age, but now with change in diet pattern to heavy fatty food and less exercise or no exercise or workout at all by people, hypertension now occurs even in young people.

I didn''t know that smoking and fatty diet contributes to hypertension. That is something I an hearing for the first time. This article has certainly given me some valuable information and an excuse to raed more of your stuff.

Abhijit Bangal excessive smoking, excessive fatty diet intake and intake of alcohol in excess not only causes hypertension but also damages your heart, lungs and liver and also causes various health disorders.
