Body and Display:

The dimensions of the tab are 241.2 x 185.7 x 9.4 mm. It weighs about 662 grams. The tab has an LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colours. In capacitive touchscreens, we can't use usual stylus. Capacitive touchscreens will work only if we touch using a conductor. Our body is a conductor. So we should use our fingers to work with capacitive touchscreen tablets. Capacitive touch screens are more sensitive than resistive touch screens.

The screen size is 9.7 inches with approximately 264 ppi pixel density. The screen resolution of the tab is 1536 x 2048 pixels.


There is no microSD card slot in this tab. But this tab offers impressive internal storage memory. The internal storage comes in four variations - 16/32/64/128 GB. The tab has a Random Access Memory of 1 GB.


Apple iPad 4 utilizes both EDGE and GPRS technologies in order to connect to cellular networks. Wi-Fi is also available. It has the facility of Bluetooth connection and micro USB which help to connect with other hardware devices directly or indirectly. NFC is not available.


This tab has a 5 megapixel primary camera. The resolution of the camera is 2592 x 1944 pixels. The features of the camera include autofocus, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection etc. There is a 1.2 MP secondary camera on the front to make video calls.



OS is an infrastructure operating component of a smartphone or tab. It is the vital component of a tab as it controls all the basic operations of a tab. This tab comes with iOS 6. This OS can be upgraded to iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 7.0.

CPU, GPU and Chipset:

This tab uses Dual-core CPU. The CPU is clocked at 1.4 GHz. The processor is the main computing component of a phone or tab and is a major factor when it comes to the overall speed of the device. The GPU of the tab is PowerVR SGX554MP4. A GPU is an important part of the chipset and GPUs play an important role where gaming is concerned. The tab uses a Apple A6X chipset.

Sensors, Radio, GPS and Java:

The tab has sensors like Accelerometer, gyro, compass etc. GPS is also available with A-GPS Support and GLONASS. Global Positioning System is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather, anywhere on or near the Earth, where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. Radio and Java features are not available.

Key Features:

The model is available in two colours - White and Black. It supports microSIM card. The key features of the tab include iCloud cloud service, Twitter and Facebook integration, TV-out, Maps, Audio/video player/editor, Organizer, Document viewer, Image viewer/editor, Voice memo, Predictive text input etc.


The tab is powered by a non-removable Li-Po 11,560 mAh battery battery. The stand-by time is up to 720 h and the talk time is up to 9 h.
