Skipping breakfast has become a fashion now. Some may think that skipping breakfast helps in reducing weight. But if you skip breakfast, it will lead to over eating later in the day. You should also be careful about what you have for your breakfast. You should aim for a breakfast that contains foods with good carbohydrates, proteins and fibres. Fortunately you have so many options for a good and healthy breakfast. In this article, you will find some of those healthy and best breakfast foods.

Oats:

Oats contain plenty of beta-glucan, a type of fibre which helps to lower cholesterol level if taken regularly. Other important minerals and nutrients present in oats are omega-3 fatty acids, folate and potassium. There are different types of oats like steel-cut oats, rolled oats and instant varieties. Of these steel-cut ones are healthier than other types as they contain more fibre. But any type will do the job perfectly as long as they do not contain any sugar or other preservatives. It is advisable to have oats with milk and honey and topped with fruits and nuts.



Greek Yogurt:

Greek Yogurt contains calcium and plenty of protein. The protein content is twice than that present in regular yogurt. Greek Yogurt keeps you full throughout the morning. Always choose the plain variety without any fat. If you add some fruits, you will get additional flavour and sweetness and particularly some added nutrition.



Raspberries:

Berries top the list of cancer fighting fruits and vegetables. Berries are considered as powerhouses of nutrition. Of the all available berries, raspberries, cranberries and blueberries are very good in reducing the risk of cancer. Raspberries contain high amount of ellagitannins. Ellagitannins is a type of antioxidant which is believed to have anti-cancer properties. Raspberries also help in reducing the risk of oesophagus and colon tumours. Raspberries provide about 8 grams fibre per cup and Vitamins C and K - both help in building strong bones. You can find raspberries throughout the year although they are summer favourites. Raspberries are good as an addition to cereal or yogurt or a smoothie.



Grapefruit:

Are you trying to lose weight? Then try to have at least half a grapefruit before each meal. According to a study, eating half a grapefruit before each meal helps to reduce weight faster. The fruit has fat burning properties and has good effects on blood sugar and insulin levels. Grapefruit is also rich in antioxidants which boost immunity. For a healthy breakfast, have yogurt or an egg along with grapefruit.



Bananas:

Bananas are the best food item to prevent your mid-morning cravings. Bananas are rich in resistant starch. Resistant starch is a healthy carbohydrate which makes you feel full for a long time. Slice a banana into small pieces and add with cereal or oatmeal to give natural sweetness to the meal and to get additional nutrition in the process. People with hypertension can have plenty of bananas as they are rich in potassium which helps lower blood pressure.

Breakfast is the most important meal of an individual''s day. It is a must for an individual to be healthy and all day energetic. Skipping breakfast is not a healthy idea. Combination of good carbs and fiber with some protein imparts energy throughout the day.

Some of us with an intention of getting leaner faster tend to skip it without knowing the fact that skipping breakfast rather makes them bulky. People who eat breakfast get more amount of vitamins like A and C, iron, zinc, calcium, fiber and less amount of fat and cholesterol.

1)GREEN TEA:-
It is full of antioxidants which is of great help in preventing breast cancer, skin cancer, colon cancer etc..... It regulates blood glucose levels. It keeps risk of heart disease at bay. It is of great help for people who are often worried about their aging as it is loaded with antioxidants.

2)FRUIT SALAD:-
Why eat single fruit when one can enjoy delicious mixture of various tasty and healthy fruits. Feel free to combine all sorts of fruits chop into small pieces. The ones that are among one''s favorite list and the one''s that are most disliked because the other fruits will simply mask the taste of one''s not so favorite fruit. This is the beauty of fruit salad.

3)EGGS:-
Relish morning with eggs and one can get all the essential nutrients that one will require throughout the day. Eggs are good source of protein. Can be consumed in a lot of ways either boiled, poached or just scrambled.

4)NUTS:-
Nuts are very good source of proteins. Only hand full of nuts consumed right in the morning will keep you feel full for a long duration. They release energy very slowly, thus keeps one active throughout the day.
