Body and Display:

The dimensions of the phone are 121.2 x 62.7 x 9.8 mm. It weighs about 115 grams. The phone has a TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16M colours. Capacitive touch screens work by recognizing the electrical properties of the human body instead of pressure. But capacitive touch screens are more sensitive than resistive touch screens.

The screen size is 4.0 inches with approximately 233 ppi pixel density. The screen resolution of the phone is 480 x 800 pixels.

Memory:

The phone has a microSD card slot. The external memory can be extended up to 64 GB. The internal memory of the phone comes in two variants - 4 GB(3G) and 8 GB (LTE). The phone has a Random Access Memory of 1 GB.

Connectivity:

Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 utilizes both EDGE and GPRS technologies in order to connect to cellular networks. Wi-Fi is also available. It has the facility of Bluetooth connection and micro USB which help to connect with other hardware devices directly or indirectly. NFC is available only in LTE model. Near Field Communication enables data exchange between two electronic devices which are not more than 10 cm apart.

Camera:

This phone has a 5 megapixel primary camera. The resolution of the camera is 2592*1944 pixels. The features of the camera include autofocus, LED Flash, Geo-tagging, face and smile detection, panorama etc. There is a 0.3 MP (VGA) secondary camera on the front to make video calls.

OS:

OS is an infrastructure operating component of a smartphone. It is the vital component of a smartphone as it controls all the basic operations of a smartphone. This phone comes with Android OS, v4.2 (Jelly Bean).

CPU, GPU and Chipset:

This phone uses a dual core Cortex-A9 CPU which is clocked at 1 GHz. The processor is the main computing component of a phone and is a major factor when it comes to the overall speed of the device. The GPU of the phone is Broadcom VideoCore IV. A GPU is an important part of the chipset and GPUs play an important role where mobile gaming is concerned. The phone uses a Broadcom BCM21664 chipset.

Sensors, Radio, GPS and Java:

The phone has sensors like Accelerometer, proximity, compass etc. GPS is also available with A-GPS Support and GLONASS. Global Positioning System is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather, anywhere on or near the Earth, where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. FM Radio feature (Stereo FM radio with RDS) is also available. Java is available via Java MIDP emulator.

Key Features:

The model is available in three colours - Black, White, Dark Red. It supports micro-SIM card. The key features of the phone include XviD/MP4/H.264/H.263 player, MP3/WAV/eAAC+/FLAC player, Organizer, Document viewer, Image editor, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa, Voice memo/dial, Predictive text input (Swype) etc.

Battery:

The phone is powered by a non removable Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery battery. The stand-by time is up to 370 hours and the talk time is up to 8 hours.

Market Status:

The model was announced in the month of June, 2013. It was released in the month of July, 2013.
