Hyponatremia is a silent but a serious diseases that occurs because of sodium deficiency. Here I explain the reasons, symptoms and preventing methods of this disease. Three categories of this disease is also given here.

Hyponatremia is a condition in which the quantity of sodium becomes less in our body. Need of sodium in a healthy body is in between 135 - 145. The health problems that occur when sodium get reduce less than this normal level is called hyponatremia. If you will not give proper care and fail to take treatment in time, it may lead to death.

The way to come this disease:-

Sodium is mainly found outside of the body cells. It regulates blood. Sodium is necessary to maintain blood pressure and the proper functions of our muscles and veins.

When the quantity of sodium reduces, the water in our body will enter into our cells and will make swelling inside the cells. The swellings that happen like this way will increase systematically and at last reach in brain. When swelling inside the brain increases, the pressure inside the head also increases because it is not possible for skull to expand. If we fail to remove swellings from the brain immediately, there may be possibility to death.

If the amount of water in our body is too much, it will reduce the quantity of sodium from our body. The excess water in our body dilutes the sodium. It will reduce the quantity of sodium of our body. This is also a reason for hyponatremia.

Hyponatremia may occur as the continuation of other diseases. Heart failure, cirrhosis, some kidney diseases that lead to lose of large amount of water from of body etc. are some of the other reason for this disease.

There are many factors for low blood Sodium in our body. However, not all these are because of hyponatremia. Whatever it is, if you fail to give treatment in time, sometimes it may be a way to hyponatremia. Actually, hyponatremia is related to many diseases.

It is difficult to recognize Hyponatremia so easily. Therefore, if you have some of the diseases that are given above consult a doctor and make sure that the amount of sodium in your body is in correct amount.

Cancer radiation is another major reason for hyponatremia. Sodium can be balanced by removing tumor.

Three Categories of Hyponatremia:-

Hyponatremia is classified into three categories. They are

. Hypervolemic hyponatremia

. Euvolemic hyponatremia

. Hypovolemic hyponatremaia

Hypervolemic Hyponatremia:-

Hypervolenic hyponatremia is a condition in which the sodium and water in our body increase in large amount. In it, the quantity of water is more than the quantity of sodium. The excess water dilutes the sodium and thus minimizes the quantity of sodium.

In this condition, there is chance for cirrhosis and heart failure. Drinking lot of water is the best way to solve this problem. Then also there is no difference, consult a doctor immediately.

Euvolemic hyponatremia:-

Euvolemic hyponatremia is a condition in which the quantity of water in the body is in high lever, but there is no difference in sodium. It is in same condition.

In this condition, there is possibility for body pain, brain damage and hypothyroidism.

Hypovolemic hyponatremia:-

Hypovolemic hyponatremia is a condition in which the sodium and water in our body reduce in large amount in same proportion. Frequent vomiting, less intake of food, diarrhea etc.are some of the symptoms of this disease.

If you fail to find out this disease in time, it may lead to a dangerous situation. Diagnostic delay of this disease may lead to complications. It can create problems for your veins and nerves and sometimes makes you faint.
