In this article I am giving some basic steps that every parents should adapt in their life , to make their kid's foundation for knowledge on a strong base.

Knowledge does not merely mean the knowledge to read and write. For a child his initial five years are very crucial. As it is during this time his or her individual's intellectual growth takes place. It is during these years that he or she picks up the initial skills that are required for learning and creative expression. They learn languages, learn to observe, learn to write or draw etc. It is during these years when they have the wholesome growth on which their future depends. It is now a well known proved fact by child psychologists that intelligence includes ones creative abilities. And it is at this level when parents have very special role to play.

Let kid learn in joyful manner:

The foremost thing that parents need to do is to make the kid learn different things in a way that they don't feel like they are being taught. Let them have their hours of fun and excitement and nurture their creative skills and the ability to think logically. Don't ever think that if they are spending most of the times in coloring, then they are doing some useless thing and wasting their time. But it is not so. With having fun with colors they pick up their knowledge of different colors and their creative skills.

Let kid learn with rhymes and rhythm:

As we all know that music is the universal language and it is also liked by the kids a lot. They love songs with rhythm and melodious and catchy tunes. You will find that if a child is crying or throwing tantrums, the moment he or she hears a lullaby, falls asleep. As the child grows his love for music and songs persists. It is always the rhythm and rhyme that fascinates a child. Rhymes play a very crucial role in the mental and intellectual development of the child. Though it is true that the young ones may not be able to understand the meaning of the words of the songs that they are singing but they are quick to memorize it. The reason is not its meaning but the rhythm of the song. It is a very well accepted fact that there is no better method of learning a language than through learning songs. While listening to and learning songs rich in rhythm children quickly grasp the intonation, the pronunciation, the approximate meaning and usage of the words. This also helps in increasing their listening power and concentration. They also learn the various ways of communication as they watch their parents or teachers moving their hands and fingers and changing facial expressions while singing an action song. To make them learn and understand alphabets and number faster, rhymes are the best option to be used by parents.

Read stories aloud to them:

Parents should try to make their child read books. The only way to kindle an interest in reading books in your child is by reading along with your child. Whenever you start reading any story with your child next to you or on your lap, always move your finger along the lines that is being read and read it aloud too. Read each word and sentence with feelings but not in a mechanical or in a humdrum tone. When your child hear you telling the story to him or her in this manner then the whole story comes to life in front of her. Some new words stay in her mind for ever. And you will find her feeling excited on seeing those words in any magazine or paper. You will see that he or she is in fact searching for those words in magazine or paper. This is the way to make her start on the process of learning to read.

By following these simple ways, you can be rest assure that you child is receiving the education in best possible way.
