Let your children learn by their fingers

January 08, 2011  by: johnpillai  Points: 15   Category: Others    Views: 831

Observing a learning activity is good for children. But trying the activity by their fingers are hundred times better than observing.

My friend was so busy with some paintings when I visited her. She was so particular of the tidiness of the painting. her three year old son was sitting near her and observing her mother. he used his small hands and fingers to support his head. He found it easy to observe his mother in this position. I got shocked when came to know that the painting work was not for the mother, but for the child. the mother was so satisfied as the son was not disturbing her, but observing her.

But my child care mind didn't accept this situation. OK. The child was observing the mother#s painting work. But there is chance to forget his observation also. Can children learn well with their passive hands. No, never. they can gain some knowledge by observing with passive hands. But they can learn easily when they do an activity by their own hands.

Normally small children learn through their five senses. touching sense is very important for learning. When children are allowed to touch painting colors, foods and many other things they will learn through their touching sense.

Other than this children's fingers should be trained for their future works. We need finger for each and every of our works. So the muscles of the finger may be developed in childhood.

visit here to see some pictures, how children are doing some learning activities by their fingers.
