Hair loss can be a cause of immense worry for people of either gender. Usually, hair loss in human beings may be due to genetic disorder or health problems. What are the causes for hair loss?

Why am I having a hair loss? Usually people have this question day in and day out. Even on Google search, there are several people with this kind of query. In fact, kids, teenagers and adults are always searching for causes of hair loss and measures to prevent hair loss.

For the hair products industry and hair care professionals, it is a highly lucrative career. Many hair care products claim to stop the hair loss. However, using the toxic and chemical hair care products can only worsen the situation.

Some common causes for hair loss include genetic and hereditary causes, extreme stress, alcohol, smoking, menopause, pregnancy, dandruff, allergies, weather change, water change, anemia, vitamin deficiency, extremely dry scalp, surgery, excessive medication and so on. Actually, there may be one or multiple causes for your hair loss.

How to Prevent Hair Loss

Hair loss, due to the above-mentioned causes, can continue for few weeks or up to 6 months. When men and women keep losing many strands of hair daily, they can feel depression and stress. This can continue the process of hair loss. Hence, stop to feel the stress when you lose hair daily. Instead, look for measures to prevent hair loss.

Extremely dry scalp or dandruff is usually the most common cause for hair fall. Use hot oil treatment for your hair every day to prevent hair fall. Avoid using tight hair bands or tying your hair with rough clips or elastic bands that tug the hair. When you pull these off from your hair, it results in hair fall. Also, avoid combing your hair from top to bottom. Instead, bend your head and use the hair dryer at a low heat setting, away from the hair and comb hair in reverse.

Hair Care for Shiny and Voluminous Hair

You can try castor oil, olive oil or almond oil or any herbal oil for your hair. Heat it on the stove until lukewarm to mildly hot. Apply on the scalp and rest of the hair. Gently massage until your hair absorbs all oil on your palms. Then, wrap your hair into a hot towel. Alternatively, if your gym or health club has a sauna, apply the oil at room temperature, wrap a towel and sit in the sauna for 20 minutes.

In this process, you not only lose weight but your hair gets hot oil and towel treatment in the sauna. Later, wash the hair with cool or lukewarm water and organic or herbal shampoo with conditioner. Always use a good hair conditioner after hair wash. It prevents dry scalp and controls hair loss.

Avoid excessive use of artificial, chemical hair dyes and hair products like hair gels, hair irons and hair sprays. Use organic hair colors like henna and herbal hair care products instead of the chemical laden ones. These are safe and prevent hair loss.

Use organic hair masks and herbal hair oils that promote hair growth. Eat good protein rich food and vitamins in your diet. Consuming food with vegetables, milk and milk products, fruits and protein will result in shiny and voluminous hair.

All these methods and hair care routine will help you to control the excessive hair loss and combat the stress related to hair fall. Usually, cold weather, frequent travel, bad sleeping habits and work or family tensions can cause hair loss. Some yoga, meditation and regular exercise will help to relax the mind and body. It reduces stress and therefore is a process to prevent hair loss.

Thanks Ushakiran! Yep you are right, what we eat shows on our skin and face. Especially fruits, vegetables and protein. Like our skin needs moisture, so does our hair. Hence, I figured out that regularly using oil for hair helps to control hair fall.
