We live in a free society. This means that we can eat a pizza with soda or donuts with beer without any obstruction. However, such high calorie snacks and unhealthy foods are very harmful for our health. Fast foods, ready to eat meals and canned foods contain high amounts of sodium. They can also trigger heartburns, diabetes, hypertension or obesity.

Of course, eating such junk foods once in a week or so is not bad. You can surely continue to binge into all such sweets and snacks few times in a month. Still, avoid eating fully loaded BLTs and deep fried foods every day. Your body cannot burn all those calories. As a result, you end up storing a lot of fat in all unwanted areas of your body. This leads to the appearance of love handles, obesity and high cholesterol.

College kids and students these days hang out around coffee shops. Other kids will look down upon them if they do not do so. Be sure to have regular health check up for you and your family once in six months. Never ignore prolonged illnesses including common cold and fever. Regular exercise also helps to be in shape and even improves your immunity. Hence, your body is better equipped to fight germs, pollution and free radicals.

Celebrities surely endorse junk foods, alcohol and sodas. Yet, they are very careful about their own diet. It is not bad to eat your favorite burgers or pizzas but take care about your regular eating habits. You can try some simple quick fix junk food ideas to enforce healthy eating in your family.

Try shallow fried burgers or baked vegetable patties instead of deep fried variants. Use brown bread and whole grain buns instead of white bread. Rather than white rice, substitute dinner or lunch with brown rice and whole grains. Quinoa can be useful for preparing delicious rice delicacies. Instead of rice, use quinoa or daliya.


Use low fat butter and low cheese spread on your breads. Rather than sugar-loaded sodas, pick up a fresh fruit, fresh juice or coconut water to quench your thirst. Coconut water has several health benefits. It flushes out bad body toxins, strengthens immunity, supplies natural energy and hydrates your body.

Thus, such simple changes in your diet can make a huge difference. Add minimum 30 minutes of rigorous exercise to your daily routine. Good diet and workout keeps you feeling fit and healthy for a lifetime. Healthy binging can be a great idea. You feel motivation to lose weight while you eat your favorite foods. Weight loss need not mean starving, fad diets or yo yo diets. Some self-control and dedication can help you reach the weight loss goal at the earliest.

Nice article with nice content. Since junk food is high in fats and sugars, it is responsible for obesity, dental cavities, Type 2 diabetes and heart diseases. Any food that has poor nutritional value is considered unhealthy and may be called a junk food. Junk food is easy to carry, purchase and consume. It is very tasty. That is the reason why people like to eat junk food. For kids to understand the importance of a healthy diet, they should be informed of the health problems associated with the intake of junk food.

Right said Joina! Any food that is poor in nutrition is junk food! With some minor healthy choices, we can turn junk food into health food. For instance, ready made or restaurant meals are lot healthier when we make them at home. Kids eat what they see their parents eating. Hence, it is responsibility of elders to make right food choices to implement same for kids.

Great article as usual !I see that these days not only children but also adults getting addicted to junk food.I have seen people eating french fries and chocolates for breakfast or carrying them in their lunch box lol,and fried rice with ketchup too....No wonder children do the same...

Lol well said Ushakiran! It is so bad to see people eat fries and chocolates early morning. True, kids want bad and oily stuff for lunch boxes. Anything healthy will come back as it is in the box. Even kids friends won't touch it. We need to eat right to make kids eat right.

The combination of exercise and balanced diet on daily basis regular way surely help you not only in loosing weight but also in maintaining healthy weight.

Exercise has so many health benefits. It not only help in weight loss but also helps in maintaining healthy body away from diseases. One should do exercise regularly on daily basis at least for 30 minutes.
