Iniya, a three year old girl child, can tell the names of 200 countries withing two and half minutes and can tell the names of 99 kinds of flowers within one and half a minute. She has recently created Guinness world record. Her record has been included in "Indian Book of Records".

A budding genius from South India

Dinamalar, a Tamil Daily, has given the story of the child in detail in October 9, 2011 issue. Iniya hails from Karur, a town in Tamil Nadu and is studying in Lower Kinder Garten class in Sri Sankara Vidhyalaya School in Karur. Iniya's parents noticed the extraordinary memory power of their child and encouraged her by teaching her names of flowers and other things. Iniya can recite the names of 99 kinds of flowers mentioned in an ancient literary work of the Tamil poet Kabilar.

In a public function held a couple of days back, Iniya surprised the audience by showing her talent in recognizing and telling the names of 200 countries in two minutes and 34 seconds. She also recited the names of 99 kinds of flowers mentioned in the ancient works of Kabilar who belonged to the first century AD.

Iniya was complimented for her great talent and was awarded "Achievement Record" by Mr. Venkatachari, manager of Indian Book of Records.

Rotary Club of Karur arranged the felicitation function and brought out the exceptional talent of this budding genius.
