Rejuvenate your life by saluting the sun. The first rays of the morning sun are very good to enrich your health. Even those cannot have direct sunlight can do this as a useful yoga.

         

The sun is the source of energy for all. The bright rays of the sun that begin the day life gloriously in the morning are powerful source of rejuvenation. Upon waking up in the morning, the fastest way to shake off your sleepiness is to expose your head to the brightest light. Your circadian alarm clock in the brain will respond to the bright rays even while your body is still groping in the dark.

Sun salutation yoga

Sun salutation is one of the best exercises of yoga to keep your body and mind fit in all possible ways. It is a holistic exercise that not only provides you physical health benefits, but also mental or emotional as well as spiritual benefits. Every morning, the light absorbed by the retinas of your eyes helps to strengthen your body and mind by setting the master clock in your brain to carry out your best during the following day.

It is true that many of us cannot see the sun during winter, especially in western countries. But sages of yoga say that even those people can do this exercise by meditating the sunlight, which they call "Sankalpa" (mental visualization). All ancient cultures, including the Greeks, the Romans and the Egyptians, worshipped the sun as their god. The reason for this worship may lead to their faith that the sun is the ultimate source of energy. It is the sun that regulates very change and movement in nature.

Sun salutation is a useful exercise for the modern man whose lifestyle has a deleterious impact on health. It can stimulate the cardiovascular, nervous, respiratory and digestive systems. Sunlight boosts your concentration

Sunlight directly activates the parts of the brain that are responsible for your alertness and concentration. Studies say that exposure to proper sunlight will yield better results in the function of the memory. Light encourages the production of serotonin, which regulates the neuron-transmitter of moods. Insufficient light will make you lose your concentration.

Sun salutation in 12 easy poses

Sun salutation exercise is just a part of yoga and there need not be any religious significance attached to it. You may do this exercise just as any other physical exercise. Though it has a number of cycles or poses of the body, 12 of them are the easiest poses that cover the sun salutation yoga. Slow inhaling and exhaling meditating the rays of the sun or visualizing the sun is the main plan of the exercise. Pictures of these 12 poses are available which can help you to do this yoga easily.
