Can you have fun during the festive season without indulging in sweets? Be it Halloween, Diwali or any other celebration time, people with diabetes or those who are on a weight loss spree, tend to feel depressed. Here is some healthy festive advice for children, adults and seniors with Diabetes or obesity or any other health issue.

Expand your Sweet Tooth Options

Instead of eating candy through the day, treat yourself a small dessert after lunch and dinner. Take a walk after dessert time. This is a helpful tip for diabetics and those who suffer from weight gain issues. Count your carbohydrate consumption during the celebration times. Try to find sugar-free substitutes for candy, cookies and chocolate.

Trade candy for Goodies

If you are diabetic or battling weight issues, you may think of trading Halloween candy or sweets for other goodies. If your child suffers from similar health problems, talk to them about buying a toy, game or book instead of candy. You can also think of alternative healthy snacks than baking sugar loaded snacks.

Holiday means eating sweets and trying delicious dinners. It gives a freedom to both body and mind. It relieves you from all tension. But unfortunately holiday season brings in diseases by overeating and extravagance. In olden days there were ancient traditions to keep off from such mishaps. But today it is all changed.Changing food styles of modern days and use of chemicals in ready made food stuffs are the main reason for this. I have also written an article about this.
