Food items laden with fat and varieties of sweets should be avoided too. In other words you can restrict the consumption of sweets and fatty substances. The advantage of keeping away from sweets is weight reduction. It is said that reduction of body weight contributes to the regulation of blood sugar levels too.

Meat products can be consumed by a diabetic but they should be taken in a restricted manner. This is because of the fact that meat products contain a high percentage of fat too. Little bit of fish and eggs can be added to your diabetic diet recommended by your doctor. As a diabetic it is advisable for you to avoid fried food items like potato chips, French fries and pastries. You will do well to consume lesser amounts of these food items. Fruit juices should be consumed without the addition of sugar in them. Sugar when added to fruit juices can harm your body by increasing the blood sugar levels. If sufficient care is shown on the intake of food items is concerned then diabetes can be controlled to a great extent.
