Home-made Recipes For Kids

Infants and kids are very fragile in nature and any change in their diet would result in a very bad change on their health. It is always better to feed the baby with the home made recipes as they are very healthy and nutritious to the kid. But there would always be a question what to feed the infants. Here are a list of very useful and excellent home made recipes for kids according to their age.

         

HOME-MADE RECIPES FOR KIDS

Infants and kids are very fragile in nature and any change in their diet would result in a very bad change on their health. It is always better to feed the baby with the home made recipes as they are very healthy and nutritious to the kid.
But there would always be a question what to feed the infants. Here are a list of very useful and excellent home made recipes for kids according to their age.

Kids from 0 to 4 Months of Age.


These kids, called as infants are suggested to have mother's milk as their only diet. No other diet would be recommended to these infants as they cannot digest.
Advice: Mothers are advised to take healthy food rich in calcium and vitamins to serve the required nutrients for the kid.



Kids from 4 to 6 Months of Age.


The kids from fourth month have the capacity to digest the external foods. Here is an excellent recipe for these kids.
RECIPE: Rice Item
Ingredients:
1. Rice - 1 Cup.
2. Salt or Sugar.
3. Water - Half cup.
4. Ghee - 1 Table Spoon.
Procedure:
1. Take rice and dip in water for half an hour.
2. Now strain water and let the rice dry on a dry cloth.
3. Take a pan and put ON the stove.
4. Now add rice to it and fry on LOW flame.
5. After rice gets slightly fried, remove it on to a flat plate and let it cool.
6. Now grind fried rice into a fine powder.
7. This can be stored in an air-tight container for storage.
Preparation:
1. Take a bowl and add half cup water to it.
2. When the water boils, add sugar or salt; according to the taste.
3. Now add 1 to 2 Table Spoons of the powder prepared and let it cook.
4. See the consistency to feed the baby and then put OFF the stove.
5. Add ghee and let it cool to reach the feeding temperature and then serve to kid.
Feeding Intervals:
1. This recipe can be fed only one time a day to the kid.
2. Maintain regular intervals in feeding.
3. Ideal time to feed is at afternoons.

Kids from 6 to 8 Months of Age.


The small ones from the age of 6 months and above would be able to digest more than one item at once. So here is an excellent recipe to these kids.

RECIPE: Apple Smash.
Ingredients:
A fruit - Ideal fruit is Apple.
Optional - Banana.
Procedure:
1. Peel the fruit if necessary.
2. Cut small pieces of it and grind it to make fine paste.
3. Take it into a bowl and feed the kid.
Feeding Intervals:
1. This recipe would be ideal to feed the kid in early mornings or at evenings.
2. Only one feed per day is recommended.

RECIPE: Rice with Moong Dal.
INGREDIENTS:
1. Rice - 1 Cup.
2. Jeera - 1 Table Spoon.
3. Salt - To Taste.
4. Water - 1Cup.
5. Ghee - 1 Table Spoon.
6. Moong Dal or Red Gram - 2 Table Spoons.
Either Moong dal or Red Gram can be used for this recipe.
PROCEDURE:
1. Take rice and red gram / moong dal dip in water for half an hour.
2. Now strain water and let the rice and moong dal / red gram dry on a dry cloth.
3. Take a pan and put ON the stove.
4. Add jeera to it and fry.
5. Now add the dried mixture to it and fry on LOW flame.
6. After ingredients get slightly fried, remove it on to a flat plate and let it cool.
7. Now grind the ingredients into a fine powder.
8. This can be stored in an air-tight container for storage.
Preparation:
1. Take a bowl and add one cup water to it.
2. When the water boils, add salt to it; according to the taste.
3. Now add 3 to 4 Table Spoons of the powder prepared and let it cook.
4. See the consistency to feed the baby and then put OFF the stove.
5. Add ghee and let it cool to reach the feeding temperature and then serve to kid.
Feeding Intervals:
1. This recipe can be fed twice a day.
2. Ideal time to feed is at afternoons and at evenings.
3. Never over feed the kid.

Kids from 8 to 10 Months of Age:


These kids would be able to move around and trying to walk. These need a good source of instant energies. Here are excellent recipes what would supply required nutrients and vitamins.
RECIPE: Vegetable Smash
Ingredients:
1. A vegetable - Potato / Carrot are ideal.
Procedure:
1. Boil the vegetable first.
2. Now peel the vegetable if required.
3. Smash the vegetable to make fine paste.
4. Take this paste into the serving bowl and feed the baby after it reaches the feeding temperature.
Feeding Intervals:
1. This recipe should be given only once per day.
2. The ideal time to feed this is at evenings.

Kids from 10 months to 1 year of age:


The kids from the age of 10 months to 1 year have the capability to digest the solid and flakes recipes too. No need to make a fine paste for these kids.
Here are the recipes that suite these kids.
RECIPE: Vegetable and Rice.
Ingredients:
1. Rice - Quarter Cup.
2. Any Vegetable.
List Of ideal vegetables:
- Potato.
- Carrot.
- Bottle gourd.
- Lemon Kukumber.
- Ridge gourd.
- Leafy vegetables like spinach.
3. Salt - To taste.
4. Water - 1 Cup.
5. Curry leaves - 2 to 3.
6. Ghee - 1 Table Spoon.
7. Oil - Half Spoon.
8. Jeera - Half tea Spoon.
Procedure:
1. Grate the vegetable to make a half cup of grated vegetable.
2. Now take a small pressure cooker or heavy bottomed pan; and add oil to it.
3. Now add jeera and curry leaves to it.
4. Now add grated vegetable to it.
5. When the ingredients fry slightly, add water and salt to it.
6. Add rice to it and let it cook till the rice cooks completely.
7. Add ghee to it and mix well.
8. Now take this mixture to the serving bowl and serve to kids when the temperature is opting.

RECIPE: Aayikudum (Andhra Recipe)
Ingredients:
1. Urad Dal - 1 Cup.
2. Jeera - 1 Tea Spoons.
3. Salt to taste.
4. Ghee - 1 to 2 Table Spoon.
5. Sugar - To taste.
Procedure:
1. Take urad dal in water and leave it to soak for about 6 hours.
2. Now take this dal in the grinder and add jeera and salt to it.
3. Make a fine paste out of it, similar to idly batter.
4. Now make idly pan and crease them with ghee.
5. Put required amount of batter in them and steam these to make them solid.
6. Now remove them from the idly plates and apply ghee and sugar to them.
7. Feed this to the kids at required temperature.
Feeding Intervals:
1. Make a point that this recipe is very healthy and can be served only once a day.
2. This recipe would be very ideal to be given as breakfast in the mornings to the kids.


Hope these recipes would definitely be helpful to solve the issue of planning the baby's diet and help the kids in getting all the required nutrients for their healthy growth.
