Sachin Tendulkar misses the century mark again

Sachin Tendulkar missed the chance of scoring the 100th 100 yet again and kept his fans waiting for possibly yet another innings or a Test match. He joined the Wall at the fall of the second wicket. Sachin and Rahul Dravid steadied the Indian innings. But more importantly, Sachin looked in ominous touch. He cut and drove the ball more effectively showing his vintage form. He almost raced to his half-century and caught up with Rahul Dravid, who was batting at a snail's pace - almost as usual.

Tendulkar took the attack to the opposition and hardly gave any chance of taking wickets to Australia. Both the legends put up yet another century stand - probably the most by any pair in the history of Test cricket. Tendulkar played such terrific cricket that at one stage both he and Dravid were batting on the same score - 64.

When Sachin reached his 50, the first runs he scored was a boundary over the slip cordon. It was a sweet upper-cut that any Indian fan would have loved to watch. He did not stop there and kept punishing the loose balls at will. A century look imminent the way Sachin was playing. He was hardly beaten and dominated the bowlers as he always did in his life.
It now depends on how Sachin approaches his second innings. Records do not speak for Sachin scoring a century in the fourth innings of a Test match. Sachin Tendulkar has never played for records - we all know it very well. But as we all know, cricket is a game of sheer luck. Who knows Sachin could be destined to score the hundredth international century in the fourth innings of a Test match, you never know.

As Sachin Tendulkar's true fans, we can only hope the best for him and that he reaches the century in a couple of days' time itself.
