The following foods help you stop over eating and maintain a healthy body.

1) Leafy greens

Dark leafy greens like lettuce and spinach are excellent foods for reducing the risk of excess fat. They make you feel stuffed for fewer calories. Since they contain high water content, they fill more space in the stomach and stop you from further filling. They are also rich in minerals like iron and calcium and vitamins A, B, C and E.

2) Apples

It is true that 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away'. It keeps away not only the doctor but also fat. An American study reports that three apples eaten daily helped 346 people lose more than 2700 kilos in a period of 12 weeks. Apples should be chewed and eaten for reducing calories.

3) Various Citrus Fruits

Citrus fruits like, oranges, grapefruits, tangerines, lemons and limes contain high concentrations of Vitamin C, which contains ascorbic acid, and has the power for burning fat. These citrus fruits are fat fighters because of their fiber content.

4) Black beans

Varieties of beans, such as black beans, chickpeas and lentils, are low in fat and rich in soluble fiber. Generally beans contain a substance called lecithin a that can shield body cells from accumulating fat. They digest slowly and keep sugar level of blood steady.

5) Celery and broccoli

Celery and broccoli are packed with water and have the power of controlling fat. More calories are burnt by chewing and digesting. They contain vitamins E and C and have an important place in diet food.

6) Garlic

Garlic oil, or juice taken from garlic, has a significant protective quality to cells which help to reduce fatty deposits. Garlic has the property to bring down the levels of fat and protect you from obesity and blood pressure.

7) Low fat whole grains

High-carbohydrate foods as well as polyunsaturated fat foods like corn should be avoided or limited. Oatmeal, whole grain cereals and oats are great sources of fiber, minerals and vitamins and can lower fat. These are natural fat fighters and can give a filled up feeling that makes you less likely to take pre-packaged snacks or fast foods when you feel hungry.

8) Low fat milk and cottage cheese

Skim milk is also good for reducing fat. Calcium rich foods such as cottage cheese and skim milk boost metabolism and lower fat. Women and girls who consume dairy products regularly have lower weight and less body fat than those who take fat content milk.

9) Chilies and Capsaicin vegetables

Capsaicin, a compound found in chilies, boosts metabolism increasing the power of burning calories during digestion. But that does not mean to make your diet too hot which will end in lose motion. Researches say that eating capsaicin can curb your appetite for about three hours.

10) Fresh water trout and Omega-3 foods

Fresh water trout has the leanest form of meat and contains Omega-3. Steamed, grilled or baked fish like mackerel and sardines are low in fat.

Most of the dietitians state that fat is a stubborn stuff that contains perilipin and causes obesity. If this substance is less in cells HDL, the good cholesterol, can burn fat right away.
