In this article, I have mentioned the moral values in India with comparison at independence movement.

Position of moral values:

Moral values are seemed to be in text books for reading purpose. But, no one would not follow them in present situation. As people at indepence time, they adhered to moral prinicples so that our independance was got by us. Otherwise, we all would be sold to other countries as slaves by British people. But years went on from the1947, adherence of moral values has been decreasing. It is embarrassing that each person has own opinion to have more and more money without thinking about others. If it would be happened before independance then British people would encash this for not giving independance. Even people were unite before independance, British people would not like to give indepedance until they cleanly swept the wealth of India. When India got independance, economy of India was in very poor condition.

The following moral values are caused to get independance from British people.
1. Violence.
2. Ahimsa
3. Patience
4. Compassion

1. Violence:

This moral value was less valued by British people because before Gandhiji entered into the movement, there were number of agitators against British people, but, they would like to get independance with violence. But, those people would get into violence methods for the sake of Indian people to free from the hands slavery bonds of British people.

2. Non-violence:

This is also moral value was given high importance. Without any fight with British people and with powerful unity all the people over all India, with non-violence method got Indenpendance from British people. Even no one could not get despair, even their people were killed by British people. With non-cooperation movement, British people believed that they could not do anything further.

3. Patience:

This moral value is the extension of non-violence. If one would be like in non-violence method, he could have patience. That would be possessed by the people at the movement of Independance. One of British authorities slapped on one side of the face of Gandhiji, Gandhiji showed his patience by showing other side of his face. Even British people beat Indian people who behind Gandhiji, they would not like to regret the action of British people. They beared with patience.

4. Compassion:

This is very important moral value. Without this, there would be no Gandhiji, Nehru and other freedom fighters. Unless this moral value would not be there, then we could not guess what would be our present position. Through compassion only, many leaders who fought for freedom by giving lives to get freedom to India.
