Honey is every time favorite of everybody due to its sweet and yummy taste. It is used in various recipes. It is known for its unique medicinal properties.


Honey has lot of health benefits which are as follows-

1. Honey is very good for sore throat and cough. Honey with ginger tea gives a good relief to long standing cough.

2. Honey is good for skin. Honey when mixed with yoghurt or milk or rose water and applied on skin give soothing effect to skin.

3. Honey when mixed with sugar acts a good scrub to cleanse the skin and clogged pores to remove blackheads.

4. Honey with milk is very good for having deep and sound sleep. So people who have complaint of insomnia have it on daily basis.

5. Honey nourishes and moisturizes the skin. It makes your skin silky and smooth.

6. Honey is very good for pregnant women in first trimester of pregnancy when they are suffering from morning sickness that is nausea and vomiting, honey then helps to restore body health when given in quantity of one teaspoon mixed with one glass of lemon juice.

7. Honey has anti-inflammatory and antibiotic properties. It kills bacteria and microbes, therefore is usually applied to wounds to promote healing of wounds.

8. Honey with lemon juice is very good for weight loss in case of obese patients.

9. Honey contains no cholesterol so therefore is very good for diabetic and hypertensive patients.

10. It is also good energy booster.

Although honey has lot of health benefits but it should not be given to newborn babies who are below the age of one year as their digestive system is weak and does not contain digestive enzymes to digest it.
