Wheat is an important cereal food grain eaten all over the world. It has lot of health benefits. It contains good amount of all the essential nutritive elements our body needs.

         

Wheat is an important cereal food grain eaten all over the world. It has lot of health benefits. It contains good amount of all the essential nutritive elements our body needs. It is a complete food as it contains all the nutritive elements our body needs.
The various health benefits of wheat are as follow-

1. Wheat contains good amount of carbohydrates needed for the healthy functioning of body. Carbohydrates provide energy to body on catabolism to run various chemical reactions of body.

2. Wheat contains no cholesterol therefore is very good for diabetic patients and obese patients. As it has low glycemic index therefore very good for lowering blood glucose level in diabetic patients.

3. It also contains good amount of fiber, therefore very good for patients who want to lose weight and also helps in preventing constipation.

4. Whole wheat grain is better than the polished wheat grain as it contains the essential vitamins like vitamin B6, vitamin B12 which is very good for central nervous system. Vitamin B present in it is very good for healthy functioning of brain and spinal cord and various parts of nervous system.

5. Wheat when cooked without fat helps a lot in preventing various cardiac diseases, like, atherosclerosis, ischemic heart disease, and myocardial infarction. It also helps in preventing various gastrointestinal diseases like indigestion, constipation, dysentery and peptic ulcer.

6. Wheat germ oil contains good amount of vitamin E which is very good for skin. It gives a healthy glow to skin. It also contain good amount of antioxidants which is very good for preventing various diseases and infections and inflammatory diseases.
