Tomato is great salad material and also a tasty topping on pizzas and used in various dishes. It is rich source of vitamin A and beta-carotene.

         

Tomatoes have lot of health benefits. The different health benefits of tomatoes are as follow-

1. Tomatoes contain good amount of vitamin A and beta-carotene both of which are very good for eyes. Beta-carotene also has antioxidant properties which help in detoxifying the harmful effects of free radicals.

2. Tomatoes also contain vitamin C which is very good for skin. It disinfects, purifies and deep cleanses your skin and also help in strengthening the immune system of body.

3. Tomatoes also contain good amount of fiber which is very good for digestive system. Fiber plays a vital role in preventing constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, indigestion and various gastric problems.

4. Antioxidants are present in sufficient amount in tomatoes which plays a very important role in preventing various diseases. It also helps in preventing various degenerative diseases like tumors, cancer, ulcers.

5. Iron is present in adequate amount in tomatoes, therefore, are very good for anemic patients.

6. Tomatoes contain no cholesterol and no fat, therefore, is very good for diabetic patients and also very good for patients who want to lose weight.

7. Tomatoes are very good for skin and are used in face packs to nourish your skin and can be used as a great scrub to exfoliate your skin of dead cells and impurities.

8. Tomatoes supplies good amount of roughage and water and are also low in calories therefore is very good for those patients who are on low calorie diet.

9. Tomatoes have anti-inflammatory properties due to antioxidants present in it which helps in preventing various degenerative and carcinogenic diseases and infections.
