Take a break it makes you more productive and positive

Routine and repeated work makes a person monotonous. Our body is a machine which needs maintenance from time to time. But how can we live healthy with short breaks apart from our key roles that we play in our daily life?

         

‘All work and no play make Jack a dull boy’. We have heard them from time and again but have you ever wondered how we can work for all through without any break. We are all involved or engaged throughout the day at home, work, hobbies and friends, TV / Facebook / Twitter and so on. Having a hectic day with tight schedules and deadlines we are tired at the end of the day and fall asleep the moment we get into bed. The physical exhaustion leads to many health problems like headache, dark circles, lack of concentration on work, imbalance in life vs. work and the list can be endless. As a result you become a complete burn out person.

Relaxing with practical activities and short breaks can make you more productive. I suggest some of the activities which we do but don’t enjoy what we are doing in our routine life.

Start the day with a positive/ motivational thought
- Read an inspiring thought or quote to keep you stay happy for the day. You can encourage children in the house to read/ write such a quote either on the message board / white board so they too learn the importance of being positive.

Plan an outing with family or friends – It is a must for us to enjoy ourselves and get some natural breath. Spending some time out with our loves ones can definitely help us to relax and refresh ourselves. We can plan it in such a way that it includes simple outdoor exercises like running, jogging or walking which everyone can enjoy. Dancing or boating can be more fun when you are in a group. For your sake, do not carry the office load or your project when you really need to be yourself.

Watch a comedy movie – Add humor to life by watching a comedy show or movie. Settle yourself or with your friends for a while to laugh out louder. In our stressful life, we often forget to notice the little happiness in sharing a joke or a laugh. As we all know ‘
laughter is the best medicine
’, it makes you feel better for the moment but it has long-term benefits. It minimizes tension, stress, depression and anger and allows a lift up of our emotions.

Meditation / Yoga
– it’s a great way to reduce stress and attain peaceful mind. A short course on Art of Living can guide you in a better way. To make it more easier, get a CD from your nearby shop or with the help of net, things are handy with free tips. Practicing meditation over a period makes your concentration more powerful and by focusing without distraction, you achieve the tasks successfully.

Develop passion for your hobbies – When we are so sick and tired after a hectic day’s work, relaxing with our hobby help us to beat the stress in a grand manner. You never know when they can bring out the hidden talent in us and help in the process of Self development.

Yes, working too much is not good for any body. Not taking enough breaks to keep the mind fresh and healthy does not only affect the health of the person but also decreases productiviy and affects efficiency.

Taking breaks is important to rejuvinate ourself or in simple terms charge our battery once again. Continous working has negative impact on our productivity and quality and can cause burn outs. Thanks for sharing this information and giving us nice tips to use the breaktime more constructively.
