Prepare a routine


First, you need to prepare a daily, weekly or a monthly routine and take the initiative to follow it accordingly. You need to keep in your mind the basic fact of arranging your works according to your available time. The most important thing is to organize your routine in such a way where you could give yourself vital breaks of five to ten minutes in between your works. Now, once your routine is prepared make it sure to follow it accordingly and complete your works as you have scheduled.

Make a to-do list


This is, one of the best ways, to remind yourself of doing important tasks at scheduled times. You can prepare a simple handwritten to-do list or you can simply mark the important dates on your calendar to do a particular important work. You can even take the help of technology to do this as I do. In your mobile you will find a software tool called to -do list which you can use for the purpose. In this software application, keep a note of the works that you need to complete by setting its priority level. Besides, when you finish a particular task you can mark it as done. Moreover, you can also use Outlook; for the same purpose.

Do important tasks first


This is one of the most vital tip in time management. Here you need to categorize your tasks and keep the important ones on the top of your to-do list. Important tasks should be dealt first followed by the less important ones. However, in between those important tasks, which are more or less time consuming ones, make sure to do one or two short and urgent tasks. Very often small and short tasks are more urgent to complete than the important tasks.

Break larger projects into small ones


It is common that the important works which you give priorities are larger in nature. If you try to do it at haste, it will certainly affect the quality of your work. Moreover, doing works in hurry will result in errors and too many errors. Besides, the time you spend in correcting those errors might prove you very costly. Hence, it is a good idea to split your large work into small sections and deal with each section at a time. In this way, you will be able to maintain the quality of your work and your level of concentration too.

Use every bit of your available time


It is equally important not to waste your time. In fact, try your best to use every bit of your time positively. Very often you waste a huge amount of time while traveling for long hours to schools, colleges and offices by doing nothing. Saying no matters


Certain activities like watching movies, going to pubs and discos, going for long drives, playing games etc are known to be big time killers. Though you love to do these occasionally if you are free or having less burden of work. But certainly, when you have certain deadlines to meet you cannot afford to buy these at the expense of your work. Do not hesitate to take necessary breaks in between your works. This is important because focusing too hard on your work for a long time could get you off the tracks. You might even get stressed, depressed and lose interest while working harder on your projects. Hence, it is important to provide yourselves with necessary breaks. You can aptly utilize your breaks to stretch yourself here and there, going out for a short walk in the open and even keep a day reserve for yourself in a week. Yes, you read it right! Once in a week, fortnight or in a month you need to evaluate and access your works. Though I mentioned this as the last tip but it has its own importance. By following a healthy lifestyle you prevent yourself from getting fatigue, illness and diseases. By following a healthy lifestyle together with some physical exercise you make yourself physically and mentally stronger. Your level of concentration increases and you can channelize your energy in the positive direction to harness maximum benefit in the future. Well written article Ajay. I always wish to finish a work within the planned time. Most of the times I suceed in my plan. But sometimes I can''t able to finish within the specified time. I have the practice of postponing some hard works. I would think that I would finish the work the next week or on some holidays. But the work would not be finished at all. I want to change this practice. But till now I can''t change that. But in future I will try to change that.
