Here, I would like to share a recipe new type of Biriyani, which gives the added taste of coconut mik -
Coconut Milk Biriyani . It is a vegetarian dish.
Ingredients: . Coconut, grated- 1 cup
. Biriyani rice(Long grained, Basmati)- 1 cup
. Cardamom - 1 tsp
. Cloves - 1 tsp
. Green chillies, sliced-2 to 3
. Ginger paste - 1 tsp
. Onion - 1, medium
. Ghee-1 tsp
. Carrot-1
. Bay leaf (optional)
. Coriander leaves-for garnishing
Method: 1. Prepare the milk from the grated coconut by grinding in a mixie and straining.
2. Fry the cinnamon, cloves, sliced green chillies and onion pieces in ghee
3. Put in the ginger paste and fry for a while. Add salt to taste.
4. Cut the carrot and add the carrot pieces.
5. Add the water and coconut milk in equal proportions.
6. Then add the cooked Biriyani rice and fry for a short while. Let it cook for 10 minutes.
7. Garnish with Coriander leaves. Serve hot with tomato/cucumber raita
