How To Restore Dull Looking Skin

Is it possible to rejuvenate dull looking skin at home? Yes it is! Here are some simple and inexpensive skin care ideas. Apply them in your daily routine and see a huge difference in your skin. It will glow and you will be free from dry skin, flaky skin and pimples!


We may not like to agree openly but most of us do suffer with the problem of dull and dry skin. How often do you stop to admire the glowing skin of your friends, colleagues or even strangers? Do you get good compliments for your skin? If you do not, then you certainly need to work on your dull and dry skin. We are not talking about highly expensive surgeries or treatments. Instead, some simple and inexpensive techniques can help you in getting rid of those wrinkles, dry patches and dull skin.

Flaky and Dull Skin

Bad or no rejuvenation, lack of essential nutrients and low moisture can make your skin look dull and flaky. Many people think it is enough to take a bath once in day to keep the skin clean. We forget that we do go out, work in kitchen or garden, and commute in traffic. When we do all that after a bath, we need to follow good skin care habits to protect our body and skin from allergies and dust.

Dull and flaky skin results due to accumulation of dust, dead skin and lack of moisture. Here are some good Tips to get rid of flaky and dull skin-

After completing all your chores for the day, take 5 minutes to rejuvenate your skin. Firstly, apply some mild scrub on your face, hands and feet. You can buy any mild scrub in a regular retail store or make some at home. For homemade scrub, you can use a blend of strawberries, almonds, honey and olive oil. After scrubbing, take a few drops of lemon juice and apply all over the face. This will get rid of the tan and excess oil. Do not scrub your face more than once or twice a day.

After scrubbing, apply a good organic moisturizer. Do not sleep with make-up. Some people have a bad habit of sleeping in their make-up. It is harmful for your skin and makes it even more dull and flaky. In fact, olive oil can be your best friend. It works as the best hair oil, hair conditioner, skin rejuvenator and moisturizer. Olive oil is even suitable for kids too! If you can find extra virgin olive oil, keep a bottle in your store for daily use, in cooking and for skin care.

Exposure to Sun – Dull Skin

Well, sunlight is essential for vitamin D. However, overexposure to harmful sunrays can cause dull skin and a bad tan. Yet, you can still get the vitamin D while you avoid the dull skin. When you are out in the sun, just wear a hat or cover your face with a cotton cloth. Apply a good sunscreen to avoid flaky skin and a tan.

Hot Water and Dull Skin

Well, warm water is good for you but hot water can cause dull skin too. It snatches away your body’s moisture and as a result, you have dull looking skin. Try to shower in warm or lukewarm water instead of hot water. Also, make use of good moisturizing body wash instead of harsh soaps.

All these tips will help you get rid of dull skin and flaky skin. In fact, using olive oil will result in a glowing skin, bouncing hair and a beautiful you. All these days, you complimented others for their good skin, now, it is your turn to receive compliments if you use the above tips in your daily routine.

Some useful tips here for sure. As there are the hot summer days in India currently, it is very important that we take care of our skin and not expose them much to the sun. I think, that would be far better and would be helpful in avoiding skin burns, etc.
