Things to Do in Russia

Though Russia is not known for its beauty as compared to some other prominent tourist destinations in the world, the cold and chilly weather of the country makes it a beautiful place.

Russia is a place that has been known for two exactly opposite things. If on one hand there are cruel dictators, on the other there are compassionate and sympathetic minds as well.

Let us explore this great land a bit more.

The best time to visit
The best time to pay a visit to Russia is the period of early summer and autumn. B this time, the snow evaporates into the air and the atmosphere is conducive for a pleasurable a trip – a trip that you can enjoy. Usually, this is the start of May. Middle September and early October can leave you spellbound with the colors of the nature spread all over.

However, the period in between – roughly the months of July and August are the warmest. This is the best time to visit Russia as it is the holiday season as well, for the locals as well as for the foreigners. Winter season is another time when many people prefer to visit Russia. The snowfall over the place makes it a photogenic affair. As far as possible, avoid the snow at the fag end of October.

The main attractions to watch out for

Bratsk
A trip from Krasnoyarsk to Severobaikalsk can be divided into two days of travelling if you take a stop at Bratsk. However, you can enjoy the beauty of the place in a single day. The Taiga Tours and the Lovely Tour are the two tour agencies that can guide you around. The dam in the Energetik region is a place to watch that you can visit by train. You can also Angara Village, which is an open-air ethnographic museum.

The Golden Ring
A clutch of towns in Moscow is what the Golden Ring is. The place got its name for its artistic and architectural riches. Most of the people, who visit Russia, make it a point to visit the place. Some of the locations are close-by and you can return in a day. However, if you have enough time of hand, you will love to get lost in the tranquil and alluring location.

The Lake Baikal
The Lake Baikal has the surroundings of foreshores covered by the trees. The lake has a banana-like shape that runs 636 KM north-south and is approximately 1630 meters deep. It is the deepest lake of the world. The Baikal Lake holds nearly 20% of fresh water in the world in an unfrozen state.

Moscow
There is everything at its highest in Moscow. If on one hand the coffee cups are priced at their highest, on the other, there are billionaires galore in Moscow. It is probably the presence of money-power that has made Moscow the most unfriendly city in the world. However, there is hardly any restraint on the creative nature of the city, which is evident in the cultural development it has made.

Russia is the largest country in the world. It constitutes one-seventh of the world’s landmass. Here you can find the oldest mountains in the world, the Urals, and the deepest lake in the world, Lake Baikal. Travel from the tundra to the steppes, the desert to the glaciers, the valleys to the volcanoes without ever needing a new visa. Most Russian cities have social lives. In regard to the arts, Russia has always occupied a prominent spot on the world scene. The Bolshoi Theater and Pushkin Art Gallery in Moscow, the Mariinsky Theater and the Hermitage in St. Petersburg – these are considered to be some of the best art institutions in the world. In St. Petersburg alone there are 2,000 libraries, 221 museums, 80 theaters, 100 concert halls, 45 art galleries, 62 movie theaters, and 80 nightclubs, and over 100 concerts, shows and festivals each year. If that isn’t enough to occupy your time, Russians place great importance on friends and family, resulting in anniversary and birthday celebrations that will blow you away.
