Having dealt with the health issues that are very important duing rainy days , we can now look into some tips for the care of our body,skin,hair and makeup. Like they say don't let the grey sky dampen your mood and make you neglect your beauty routine .So, here are some useful and practical beauty tips for rainy days

Skin care

Monsoon skin care , which is also very important because this is the time when your skin behaves strangely . Some days it is oily and some other days it dries up and looks dull and lifeless. This is beacuse of the heat and humidity that one gets to experience when there is a break in the rain.

1,This can cause infections and rashes on your skin and one has to take special care of skin during rainy season.Washing your skin many times a day with a very gentle cleanser keeps it fresh and clean. Make sure that you consult a dermatologist if you have acne or problem skin before the situation gets aggravated.

2, Never givee up on moisturiser at any time of the year since it keeps your skin hydrated and supple. Make sure that you wash and clean your face thoroughly before bed time , so that old make up does not clog your skin pores . Apply a fresh coat of moisturiser for the night which should take care of your skin until the next morning .

3,During monsoons wading through rain water is unavoidable , so pay special attention to your feet. Wearing open toed water proof sandals is advisable. Wash your feet thoroughly once you are indoors and dry them well and dust with talcum powder. You can apply a little moisture on your feet at bed time , especially on the sides and heels , so that they dont crack .

4, Use soft towels to dry your skin after your bath or after you wash your face and immediately apply a moisturiser . Never let water dry on your skin since it dehydrates the skin and makes it itchy.

5, Using perfumed oils after bath helps in keeping body odor away . You can also mix a few drops of your favorite perfume or perfumed oil to your body lotion and apply it on your hands and feet to keep you smelling good all through the day.

6, Along with your beauty skin routine , keep a tab on your diet and fitness. Avoid eating at road side stalls since one can never be sure about the quality and hygien.If it is not possible to go out for walks and do outdoor activities due to incessant rains , make sure that you do some light exercise at home , do yoga or join a gym for that period.

7, This is the time to bring out the polyesters and nylons since it is practical.Polyesters dry up very fast unlike cottons and other natural materials, which tend to flood your house all through the rainy season.

Hair Care

Dull, limp, greasy and lusterless hair and hair fall is a common occurence during monsoons since there is very little sun light.With a little extra care one can take care of these problems and add life to your hair.

1,It is advisable to go for at least one hair treatment with your hair stylist. Getting your hair cut to a manageable style makes it that much easier to manage . It is best to have a shorter hair style with cuts that add volume and layers to your hair .

2, Hair fall is very common during rainy season.Massaging your hair with warm coconut oil once a week is excellent for the roots and hair surface.It improves blood circulation and also the oil soothes the dry scalp.Wash hair after 3-4 hours with a protein shampoo and leave it open to dry .Using a good shampoo and conditioner for the hair solves most of your problem . The hair remains clean and smooth and easily manageable.

3, Once a month go for a thorough cleansing.After oiling your hair with warm coconut oil , comb the hair with a wide toothed comb so that you cover the entire scalp.This makes sure that oil spreads evenly and gets absorbed into the roots besides stimulating the blood vessels . Soak a tablespoonful of Methi ( fenugreek) seeds in water for an hour or two, and when they are soft, add 2 tablespoon of home made curds and grind to a smooth paste. Apply this paste all over your scalp and massage well. Leave this on for 20 minutes and wash your hair with a protein shampoo and conditioner.Your hair comes out squeaky clean and shining.

4, Drinking plenty of water , liquids and eating a healthy balanced diets which includes lots of fruits,pulses, dairy products ,fish and vegetables has immense benefits for the hair. It keeps it in good health and shape .

Make Up

One can experiment with bright colors during rainy season . They stand out well against the grey sky adding a touch of brightness and cheer.

1, It is advisable to use waterproof make up that doesnt run the moment a few drops of rain fall on your face.Rubbing an ice cube over your face before putting on make up helps it last longer.Dusting some powder after applying foundation gives a matt, even look.

2, This is the time to use bright color on your nails and toes unlike during summer months when one prefers using mellow and softer shades that dont hurt the eye . It is the same with lip colors, one can use reds , purples and maroons of a brighter shade during rainy season.

3, Apply eye make up before applying your make up, this cleans up any minor mascara flicks or smudges on your skin without spoiling the base.Use a powder brush to clear your skin of any extra powder dust.Wash your hands and fingers thoroughly before applying make up.

Finally Keep yourself fit

No beauty treatment is complete without a fit body. Most women would prefer to have a slim body and a flat stomach, which in fact is even more important to them than other beauty treatments. One can easily understand this, because a fit toned body can carry off any kind of clothes and make up.

So instead of going in for a camouflage wardrobe that helps hide your bulges, tackle it head on. All that is required is the right kind of diet and some simple exercise routine, even house work, a life style chnage and lots of determination .Once you make up your mind you are half way though there .Most women tend to give up half way through when it is actually beginning to work.One should realise that there is no magic formula except sticking it out until you are completely satisfied with the results.

Losing fat has many advantages.Besides making you look good , it will also help your general well being. So, when it comes to our beauty and health both of which are realted issues , where we pack on the pounds might be more important than how much we lug around.So learn to value quality over quantity while eating.Not only will this help control calories, but you will also feel less stressed and feel great all the time.
