A brief guide about celebral attack

This artilce gives complete information about celebral attack and its types. It also explains the reasons for the diseases and how it is affecting the people irrespective of any age. Moreover, the reasons, symptoms, prevention and treatment of the disease is also given in this article.

         

Cerebral attacks and its types

Cerebral attacks are also known as Cerebrovascular accident strokes and are of two types – Ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke. Ischemic stroke may occur due to the blockage of a blood vessel which supplies blood to the brain. This blockage takes place because of blood clot and as a result the flow of blood decreases. Oxygen and glucose are required to keep the cells of our body alive. The blood helps in the transportation of this oxygen and glucose. If blood does not reach to certain regions of the brain then that region will not work properly. If the part of the brain which helps in the movement of our hands and legs does not get proper supply of the blood then one gets paralyzed.

In case of hemorrhagic stroke , certain blood vessel in the brain becomes weak and causes leaking of blood in the brain. This may result in critical conditions of patients and their condition depends on how much blood got leaked out from the blood vessels and from which region of the brain.

Cerebral attack of the aged

As one gets older the chances of cerebral attack increases. One of the main reasons of Ishemic stroke is atheroscelerosis. The blood vessels become weaker and the flow of blood decreases. Suddenly, one of the blood vessels get clogged and Ishemic stroke takes place.

The major reason of hemorrhagic stroke is high blood pressure conditions. It is because of high blood pressure the walls of smaller blood vessels develops cracks and blood leakage takes place. There are many reasons of these two types of strokes.

It is also affecting the youths of young generation

Of late, it is observed that the young people are also getting affected with this. The main reason behind this is the unhealthy life style which the younger generation is following at present. The amount of fat and glucose are increasing in the blood. But there are many reasons behind the strokes of the young generation, some of which are as given below:

*. Heart related problems relating to heart valves
*. Too much fat in the blood
*. High amount of cholesterol
*. Pregnancy problems
*. Being overweight
*. Smoking and drinking heavily

Symptoms

The symptoms of strokes mostly depends upon the part of the brain that is affected. Sometimes, one may even remain unaware about the stroke. To start with the symptoms are very powerful but it subsides after sometimes. The symptoms totally depends on the severity of the strokes. Some of the common symptoms of the strokes are as given below:

**. Headaches – It could start with a severe headache. It may be so severe that it may even wake one from sleep.
**. Hearing and taste – One's sense of hearing and taste get a big set back.
**. Weak memory – One may remain confused about things. The memory power also gets very weak
**. One may face problem while reading and writing
**. Weakness – One may feel weak and devoid of energy with the least exertion.
Weak eyesight – One may have a vision problem or weak eyesight.

Treatment

Strokes should be treated instantly. As soon as someone gets affected with strokes he/she should be taken to hospital with out much delay. Very often the treatment depends on the severity of the strokes and the factors behind it. Generally, a person has to remain in a hospital under the supervision of doctors. Normally, a C.T. Scan is done to find out the severity of the stroke and treatment is given accordingly. If required, medicines are also given to control high blood pressure.

Prevention

Prevention is always better than cure. Well certain factors like aging are beyond our control but then there are factors on which we could have a control. One may prevent oneself from falling a victim to stroke by following a healthier lifestyle. You may check out the following factors which you could follow for leading a healthier life style.

*. Try to control your high blood pressure and keep it in check
*. Try to control diabetes or blood sugar
*. Keep your weight in check by doing regular work outs
*. Stop doing self medications and taking pills for minor problems
*. Eat fruits, vegetables and salads regularly
*. Avoid taking raw salts.

If may be a bit difficult to start with but having control on things and following a healthier life style is not impossible. You will find many examples of people around you who have left out the unhealthy ways of life and started things afresh. Hence, think today and act accordingly so that you can have a control on the things on which you can have a better control. Spice up your life with regular exercise and a healthy diet chart and keep those things away which harms your health. With positive frame of mind and determination you will be able to keep yourself hale and hearty for a long time.

Know your personal risk factors like high blood pressure, diabetes and high blood cholesterol. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and reduce the use of salt, sugar and saturated food to lead a healthy life. Do not drink too much of alcohol. Quit tobacco and tobacco products. You should learn to recognize the warning signs of stroke.
