Nokia Lumia 610 Review

Nokia Lumia 610 is the most affordable windows phone we have seen so far. It lowers the spec requirements on Windows Phone - it requires less capable processors and less RAM. For example, low - end WP phones will now be able to ship with Qualcomm 7x27A chips and 256MB of RAM. At the same time, the Nokia Lumia 610 aims to come with the same smooth windows phone experience and it is confirmed to offer all of WP features.

         

Nokia Lumia 610 is the most affordable Windows Phone we’ve seen so far. It lowers the spec requirements on Windows Phone - it requires less capable processors and less RAM.



Body and Display:

The dimensions of the phone are 119 x 62 x 12 mm. It weighs about 131.5 gram. It does not have touch sensitive controls. The type of the touch screen is TFT capacitive touchscreen with 65K colours. The screen size is 3.7 inches with approximately 252 ppi pixel density. The screen resolution of the phone is 480 x 800 pixels. The touchscreen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It has multitouch feature also.

Memory:

The phone does not offer microSD card slot. The internal memory of the phone is good. It comes with 8GB internal memory. The user does not need extra memory card as the internal memory itself is high. The user can store his favourite music, videos, movies etc with its 8GB internal storage itself. It also comes with 256MB Random Access Memory. Some people may think that 8GB memory is not sufficient to them. They may consider other Nokia lumia cellphones.

Features:

The phone comes with Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango Operating System. It also comes with 800 MHz ARM Cortex-A5 Central Processing Unit. The processor is the main computing component of a phone and is a major factor when it comes to the overall speed of the device. Some more powerful smartphones use dual core and quad core processors. This phone uses only single core processor. The GPU is Adreno 200. The chipset is Qualcomm MSM7227A Snapdragon. It has sensors like Accelerometer and compass. It is available in four colours – Black, Cyan, Magenta and White. It supports MicroSIM card only. It has key features like SNS Integration, Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, MP3/WAV/eAAC+/WMA player, MP4/H.264/H.263/WMV player, Video/Photo editor, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Voice memo/dial, Predictive text inputs Document Viewer etc.

Connectivity:

Nokia Lumia 610 utilizes both EDGE and GPRS class 10 versions in order to connect to cellular networks. It is easy to get access to Internet through both Wi-Fi networks as well as HSPDA connections. It has the facility of Bluetooth connection and micro USB which help to connect with other hardware devices directly or indirectly.

Camera:

The set has a powerful camera. It comes with 5 Megapixel primary camera. The resolution of the camera is 2592*1944 pixels. The camera has LED flash feature. other features include Geo tagging, Face detection, Video stabilizer, Auto focus, Image stabilizer, White balance, Panorama, Scenes, Frames etc. The phone doesn't have secondary camera. This is a drawback to the phone.

Battery:

The phone is powered by standard Li-Ion 1300 mAh battery. The stand by time provided by the battery is up to 670 hours in 2G networks and up to 720 hours in 3G networks. The talk time is up to 10 hours 30 minutes in 2G networks and up to 9 hours 30 minutes in 3G networks. The stand by time and talk time are good for a smart phone.

Market Status:

This model was announced on February, 2012. It was released on April, 2012.
