Nokia 600 runs Symbian Belle and according to Nokia comes equipped with the loudest speaker on a phone to date. Here is a short review about Nokia 600.

         

Nokia 600 runs Symbian Belle and according to Nokia comes equipped with the loudest speaker on a phone to date. Other goodies that make the Nokia 600 special include its built-in FM radio antenna, which means that you won't have to plug in a pair of earphones every time you feel like listening to your favorite station.



Body and Display:

The dimensions of the phone are 111 x 53 x 13 mm. It weighs about 100 grams. It does not have touch sensitive controls. The type of the touch screen is TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16M colours. In capacitive touchscreens, we can't use usual stylus. Capacitive touchscreens will work only if we touch using a conductor. Our body is a conductor. So we should use our fingers to work with capacitive touchscreen phones. The screen size is 3.2 inches with approximately 229 ppi pixel density. The screen resolution of the phone is 360 x 640 pixels.

It has multitouch feature also. Multitouch refers to the ability of a touch sensing surface to recognize the presence of two or more points of contact with the touch sensing surface.

Memory:

The phone comes with microSD card slot. The slot supports upto 32 GB microSD memory card. 2GB memory card is included with the package. The internal memory of the phone is also good. It comes with 2GB internal memory. It also comes with 512MB Random Access Memory and 1GB REad Only Memory. The Phonebook has features like Unlimited entries, Caller groups, Multiple numbers per contact, Search by both first and last name, Picture ID, Ring ID etc.

Features:

The phone comes with Symbian Belle OS Operating System. It also comes with 1 GHz Central Processing Unit. The processor is the main computing component of a phone and is a major factor when it comes to the overall speed of the device. Some more powerful smartphones use dual core and quad core processors. This phone uses only single core processor. The GPU is 2D/3D graphics HW accelerator with OpenVG1.1 and OpenGL ES 2.0. It has sensors like Accelerometer, proximity and compass. It has Stereo FM radio with RDS and with FM transmitter, internal FM radio antenna.

GPS is also available with with A-GPS support. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather, anywhere on or near the Earth, where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites.

The model is available in four different colour – Black, White, Pink and Lime. It supports MicroSIM card. It has key features like MP4/WMV/H.264/H.263 player, MP3/WAV/WMA/eAAC+ player, SNS Integration, Organizer, Voice demo/command/dial, Predictive text input, Photo editor, Quickoffice document editor, Adobe PDF Reader, Google Search, YouTube, Gmail, etc.

Connectivity:

Nokia 600 utilizes both EDGE and GPRS Class 33 Version technologies in order to connect to cellular networks. It is easy to get access to Internet through both Wi-Fi networks as well as HSPDA connections. It has the facility of Bluetooth connection and micro USB which help to connect with other hardware devices directly or indirectly. NFC is also available.Near field communication (NFC) is a set of standards for smartphones and similar devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching them together or bringing them into close proximity, usually no more than a few centimetres. Present and anticipated applications include contactless transactions, data exchange, and simplified setup of more complex communications such as Wi-Fi. Communication is also possible between an NFC device and an unpowered NFC chip, called a "tag"

Camera:

The set has a powerful camera. It comes with 5 Megapixel primary camera. The camera has the resolution of 2592 * 1944 pixels. The picture quality is superb. Fixed focus feature is also available. Other features of the camera include LED Flash, Geo-tagging, face detection etc. The phone has 0.3MP (VGA) secondary camera on the front to make video calls. The phone can record videos with the resolution of 720p and at the speed of 30fps. 720p denotes the display resolutions of 1,280×720 pixels. It does not have secondary camera on the front to make video calls.

Battery:

The phone is powered by standard Li-Ion 1200 mAh (BL-4J) battery. The stand by time provided by the battery is up to 540 hours in 2G networks and up to 600 hours in 3G networks and the talk time provided by the phone is up to 6 hours and 30 minutes in 3G networks and up to 15 hours in 2G networks. The stand by time and talk time are good for a smartphone like this.
