Touch screens have become an order of the day today. They are so common most people have replaced their old handsets with the touch screen mobiles.

One of the cheapest touch phones from Samsung is the Samsung Galaxy Y. It is a slim and stylish phone that is trendier than what it looks. The handset is a slim piece of hardware with easy to handle buttons. The overall personality of the phone is quite appealing.

Operating system & browser
The Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) powers the performance of the handset. The Android browser makes the navigation all the easier. The strong processor makes the downloading an easy job with a speed as high as 7.2 Mbps.

Specifications
As far as the dimensions of the phone are concerned, the height is 104 mm, the width is 58 mm while the length is 11.5 mm. The phone weighs only 97.5 g.

Display
The display of the phone is its coolest feature. The 7.62 cm (3”) screen gives ample space for viewing. You can view videos or even play games and the screen will support all the angles needed for a pleasurable viewing experience. The colors are soft and they do not at all trouble the eyes in any condition. It is indeed an experience to use the phone and check out its features.

Battery
The standard battery has a capacity of 1,200 mAh. It can provide with a talk time of up to 17 hours on the 2G and up to six hours on the 3G enabled handsets. In the same way, for the 2G network, the standby time is higher with around 800 hours of backup and for the 3G, the time decreases to come down up to 500 hours.

Memory
You can store SMSes, phone book entires etc. in your Samsung handset. The external memory could be raised to as much as 32 GB.

Features
The colors have made their presence felt with the Samsung phone. The colors are so effective that they can change your mood. Match them with what you think and you have got it at your disposal. The bright and large icons are easy to differentiate and do not strain your eyes at all.
With the preloaded Find My Mobile app, your Samsung hardware is never out of reach. Even if you lose your mobile, misplace it or if it is lost, you never have to worry about it. The app gives you all the controls you need to control your phone remotely and remain safe.
Typing will never be a difficult task once you have the Quicktype by SWYPE on your side. The QWERTY keyboard makes it easy to spot all the keys in one go. To add to it the Quicktype by SWYPE will make it easier to find the letters you are looking for.

Camera
There is no wonder that the Galaxy Y comes with a camera. The 2MP camera does the job for you and allows you to capture the moments of your life. Sharing of photos has been made easy as you can do so with SNS. You can use the digital/optical zoom X2.
You can click images in single, smile or panoramic modes. The photo effects that are available are four, namely Sepia, black & white, no effect and negative. The white balance comes in options like cloudy, incandescent, daylight, fluorescent and auto.

Galaxy Y for your business purposes
The Samsung Galaxy Y is one of the best friends for your business. It has the document viewer installed. You can also use the phone in the flight mode as the offline mode. You can also send a voice mail, which is much easier and faster.

Connectivity
The BT 3.0 HS version for Bluetooth is available. The WAP 2.0 is available but only when supported by WML. The presence of the USB mass storage makes a lot of sense. WiFi, AGPS and the PC Sync Application are all available in the phone. Data transfer becomes all the easier when all these functions are at your disposal.

The call functions
Of the commonly seen call functions, the caller ID facility, the speaker phone are accessible. A total of 500 entries of the dialed phone calls, the received and missed calls are available. In the “Call Time” category, the details of the last call, the total sent calls, received calls can be seen. You can reset all the timers back to zero.

The final word
If the price of the phone is taken into consideration and is matched with the features, it will not be exaggeration to say that the phone comes at a cheap price tag. The company recommends the price at Rs. 7,720 and comes as the ‘best buy’. However, this price is in India only and that too subject to change without any prior notification any sort.

this is since entry level doesn’t necessarily mean a subpar device, and such devices often sell by the boatload. The Y stands for “young”

Personally I am not having this phone. But my sister is having this phone. And it is quite good. I mean it is quite affordable price. If someone wants to use android operating system in low cost than this phone is perfect. The touch screen is quite affective and smooth. So it is good and worthy for sure. It can be your first android phone. ;)
