Motorola Motoluxe Review

Motorola MOTOLUXE is a mid-range smartphone with a notification light that doubles as a place to attach a lanyard. The dedicated lanyard groove, as Motorola calls it, is located at the bottom left of the handset. That is also where the colored lighting for the devices notifications happens to be located. Here is a short review about Motorola Motoluxe.

         

Motorola MOTOLUXE is a mid-range smartphone with a notification light that doubles as a place to attach a lanyard. The dedicated lanyard groove, as Motorola calls it, is located at the bottom left of the handset. That is also where the colored lighting for the devices notifications happens to be located.



Body and Display:

The dimensions of the phone are 117.7 x 60.5 x 9.9 mm. It weighs about 123.6 grams. The phone has touch sensitive controls. The type of the touchscreen is TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16M colours. In capacitive touchscreens, we can't use usual stylus. Capacitive touchscreens will work only if we touch using a conductor. Our body is a conductor. So we should use our fingers to work with capacitive touchscreen phones. The screen size is 4.0 inches with approximately 245 ppi pixel density. The screen resolution of the phone is 480 x 854 pixels.

It has multitouch feature also. Multitouch refers to the ability of a touch sensing surface to recognize the presence of two or more points of contact with the touch sensing surface.

Memory:

The phone has a microSD card slot. The card slot supports up to 32 GB memory card. It also comes with 512Mb Random Access Memory and 1GB Read Only Memory. The features of the Phonebook include Unlimited entries, Caller groups, Multiple numbers per contact, Search by both first and last name, Picture ID, Ring ID etc.

Features:

The phone comes with Android OS, v2.3.7 (Gingerbread) Operating System. It also comes with 800 MHz Central Processing Unit. The processor is the main computing component of a phone and is a major factor when it comes to the overall speed of the device. Some more powerful smartphones use dual core and quad core processors. This phone uses a single core processor only. The Chipset is Qualcomm MSM7227A-0. The GPU is adreno 200. It has sensors like Accelerometer, proximity, and compass. The Phone has Stereo FM radio with RDS.

GPS is also availbale with with A-GPS support. Global Positioning System is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather, anywhere on or near the Earth, where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites.

It is available in two colours – Licorice, white. It supports MicroSIM card. It has key features like SNS integration, MP3/WAV/WMA/AAC+ player, Divx/MP4/WMV/H.263/H.264 player, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, Document viewer, Photo viewer/editor, Organizer, Voice memo/dial, Predictive text input etc.

Connectivity:

Motorola RAZR MAXX utilizes both EDGE and GPRS Class 12 version technologies in order to connect to cellular networks. It is easy to get access to Internet through both Wi-Fi networks as well as HSPDA connections. It has the facility of Bluetooth connection and micro USB which help to connect with other hardware devices directly or indirectly.

Camera:

The set has a very powerful camera. It comes with 8 Megapixel primary camera. The resolution of the camera is 3264x2448. LED Flash feature is available. The other features of the camera include Auto focus, Exposure control, White balance, Geo tagging, Scenes, Effects etc. It has a secondary camera with 0.3MP (VGA Camera) on the front to make video calls.

Battery:

The phone is powered by standard Li-Ion 1400 mAh battery. The stand by time provided by the battery is up to 450 hours in 2G networks and up to 400 hours in 3G networks. The talk time is up to 6 hours 30 minutes in 2G networks and up to 4 hours 30 minutes in 3G netowrks. The stand by time and talk time are good for a smartphone like this.

Market Status:

This model was announced on January, 2012. It was released on March, 2012.
