Body and Display:

The dimensions of the phone are 110.4 x 60.6 x 12.1 mm. It weighs about 106.6 grams. The type of the touch screen is TFT capacitive touchscreen with 256K colours. In capacitive touchscreens, we can't use usual stylus. Capacitive touchscreens will work only if we touch using a conductor. Our body is a conductor. So we should use our fingers to work with capacitive touchscreen phones. The screen size is 3.14 inches with approximately 127 ppi pixel density. The screen resolution of the phone is 240 x 320 pixels.


The phone offers microSD card slot. The external memory can be expanded up to 32 GB using a microSD memory card. 2GB memory card is included with the package. The internal memory of the phone is 160MB. It also comes with 384MB Random Access Memory.


The phone comes with Android OS, v2.2 (Froyo) Operating System. The Operating System can be upgraded to v2.3. It also comes with 832 MHz ARMv6 Central Processing Unit. The processor is the main computing component of a phone and is a major factor when it comes to the overall speed of the device. Some more powerful smartphones use dual core and quad core processors. This phone uses only single core processor. The chipset is Qualcomm MSM7227. The GPU is adreno 200. It has sensors like Accelerometer, proximity, and compass. It has Stereo FM radio with RDS.

GPS is also available. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather, anywhere on or near the Earth, where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. Java is available via Java MIDP emulator.

The model is available in only one colour – Black. It supports MicroSIM card. It has key features like SNS integration, MP4/H.264/H.263 player, MP3/WAV/eAAC+ player, Organizer, Document viewer/editor, Image/video editor, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa integration, Voice memo/dial, Predictive text input (Swype) etc.


Samsung Galaxy Pop Plus S5570i utilizes both EDGE and GPRS class 12 version technologies in order to connect to cellular networks. It is easy to get access to Internet through both Wi-Fi networks as well as HSPDA connections. It has the facility of Bluetooth connection and micro USB which help to connect with other hardware devices directly or indirectly.


The set has a powerful camera. It comes with 3.15 Megapixel primary camera. The camera has the resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. The picture quality is good. Other features of the camera include Auto focus, Touch to focus, Geo tagging etc. The camera records videos at the speed of 15fps. The phone does not have a secondary camera on the front to make video calls.


The phone is powered by standard Li-Ion 1200 mAh battery. The stand by time provided by the battery is up to 570 hours in 2G networks and up to 440 hours in 3G networks and the talk time provided by the battery is up to 9 hours in 2G networks and up to 6 hours in 3G networks. The stand by time and talk time are good for a smartphone like this.

The price of the phone is nearly 5000 rupees. But I think you can get it for reduction price in online retailing sites. Just search in some of the online mobile retailing sites for this product. You can also use junglee.com to compare the price of the product from various sites.
