LG Optimus M+ MS695 Review

LG Optimus M+ is a sequel to the LG Optimus M. This is not a GSM device, it will not work on any GSM network worldwide. This is a CDMA device. Here is a short review about LG Optimus M+ MS695.

         

LG Optimus M+ is a sequel to the LG Optimus M. This is not a GSM device, it will not work on any GSM network worldwide. This is a CDMA device.



Body and Display:

The dimensions of the phone are 113.8 x 62.7 x 9.9 mm. It weighs about 119 grams. The type of the touch screen is TFT capacitive touchscreen with 256K colours. In capacitive touchscreens, we can't use usual stylus. Capacitive touchscreens will work only if we touch using a conductor. Our body is a conductor. So we should use our fingers to work with capacitive touchscreen phones. The screen size is 3.5 inches with approximately 165 ppi pixel density. The screen resolution of the phone is 320 x 480 pixels.

It has multitouch feature also. Multitouch refers to the ability of a touch sensing surface to recognize the presence of two or more points of contact with the touch sensing surface.

Memory:

The phone comes with microSD card slot. The external memory can be expanded up to 32GB using a memory card. The internal memory of the phone is good. It comes with 2GB internal memory. It also comes with 512MB Random Access Memory and 4GB Read Only Memory. The features of the phonebook include Unlimited entries, Caller groups, Multiple numbers per contact, Search by both first and last name, Picture ID, Ring ID etc.

Features:

The phone comes with Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread) Operating System. It also comes with 800 MHz Cortex A5 Central Processing Unit. The processor is the main computing component of a phone and is a major factor when it comes to the overall speed of the device. Some more powerful smartphones use dual core and quad core processors. This phone uses a dual core processor. The GPU is Adreno 200. The Chipset is Qualcomm MSM7627A Snapdragon. It has sensors like Accelerometer, proximity and compass. It does not have FM radio.

GPS is also available with A-GPS support . Global Positioning System is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather, anywhere on or near the Earth, where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. Java is available via Java MIDP emulator.

It is available in only one colour – Black. It supports MicroSIM card. It has key features like Social networking integration, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, Picasa, DivX/MP4/H.264/WMV player, MP3/WAV/WMA/eAAC+ player, Document viewer, Organizer, Voice memo/dial/commands, Predictive text input (Swype) etc.

Connectivity:

LG Optimus M+ MS695 does not utilize EDGE and GPRS technologies in order to connect to cellular networks. But it is easy to get access to Internet through both Wi-Fi networks as well as HSPDA connections. It has the facility of Bluetooth connection and micro USB which help to connect with other hardware devices directly or indirectly. NFC is not available.

Camera:

The set has a very powerful camera. It comes with 5 Megapixel primary camera. The camera has the resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. The picture quality is superb. LED flash feature is also available. Other features of the camera include auto focus, geo-tagging etc. It does not have a secondary camera on the front to make video calls.

Battery:

The phone is powered by standard Li-Ion 1300 mAh battery. The stand by time provided by the battery is 250 hours and the talk time provided by the battery is 4 hours. The stand by time and the talk time are not so impressive.

Market Status:

This model was announced on March, 2012. It was released on April, 2012.
