Motorola XT760 Review

Not a lot of extra space in your pocket or handbag? Not to worry. The super-slim Motorola XT760 is less than 10mm thin and extremely lightweight. But don’t let its small size fool you – this smartphone is big on features. With its dual-core processor you can breeze through app downloads, stream videos from multiple online video sites through the Motorola multimedia hub and even watch HD movies without any jitters. Here is a short review about Motorola XT760.

Body and Display:

The dimensions of the phone are 120.8 x 64 x 9.9 mm. It weighs about 125 grams. The type of the touch screen is TFt capacitive touchscreen with 256K colours. In capacitive touchscreens, we can't use usual stylus. Capacitive touchscreens will work only if we touch using a conductor. Our body is a conductor. So we should use our fingers to work with capacitive touchscreen phones. The screen size is 4.0 inches with approximately 275 ppi pixel density. The screen resolution of the phone is 540 x 960 pixels. The phone has touch sensitive controls.

It has multitouch feature also. Multitouch refers to the ability of a touch sensing surface to recognize the presence of two or more points of contact with the touch sensing surface.

Memory:

The phone comes with microSD card slot. The external memory can be extended up to 32GB. It also comes with 768MB Random Access Memory and 2GB Read Only memory. The features of the phonebook include Unlimited entries, Caller groups, Multiple numbers per contact, Search by both first and last name, Picture ID, Ring ID etc.

Features:

The phone comes with Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread) Operating System. It also comes with 1 GHz Central Processing Unit. The processor is the main computing component of a phone and is a major factor when it comes to the overall speed of the device. Some more powerful smartphones use dual core and quad core processors. This phone uses a dual core processor. It has sensors like Accelerometer, proximity and compass.

GPS is also available with A-GPS support. Global Positioning System is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather, anywhere on or near the Earth, where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. Java is available via Java MIDP emulator. It does not have FM radio.

It is available in only one colour – Black. It supports MicroSIM card. It has key features like SNS integration, HDMI port, MP3/WAV/AAC+ player, MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV player, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, Document viewer, Photo viewer, Organizer, Voice memo/dial, Predictive text input etc.

Connectivity:

Motorola XT760 utilizes both EDGE and GPRS technologies in order to connect to cellular networks. But it is easy to get access to Internet through both Wi-Fi networks as well as HSPDA connections. It has the facility of Bluetooth connection and micro USB which help to connect with other hardware devices directly or indirectly. NFC is not available.

Camera:

The set has a very powerful camera. It comes with 8 Megapixel primary camera. The camera has the resolution of 3264x2448 pixels. The picture quality is superb. LED flash feature is also available. Other features of the camera include auto focus, geo-tagging, face and smile detection, video stabilization etc. There is a secondary camera on the front with 0.3MP (VGA Camera) to make video calls. The phone records videos with the resolution of 1080p.

Battery:

The phone is powered by standard Li-Ion 1650 mAh battery. The stand by time provided by the battery is up to 215 hours.

This model was announced on June, 2012. It was released on June, 2012.
