The logos of the Windows 8 are long been known to us. But what about the actual OS? Here it comes on October 26.

Microsoft had just announced the launch of their all new version of the Office Suite 2013. There are lots of new and exciting features in the new Office version. Close on the heels of that reports come another one from the same company. The new reports doing the rounds are talking about the launch of the next version of Windows – the Windows 8.

According to the latest reports, the tech giant is planning to launch the most recent version of their flagship Windows OS (Operating System). The date of the launch is expected to be October 26. It is not clear if that date will indeed be the final one, but in all probabilities, it might remain so.

Mr. Brandon LeBlanc, who is the communications manager of Microsoft, has let the cat out of the bag on his blog. According to the contents of the blog, the unit chief of Windows, Mr. Steven Sinofsky has made the date public. It was around two decades ago that Microsoft had launched Windows 95.

The current launch of Windows 8 is said to be the most important in the history of the company and a major one ever since Windows 95 was launched. In between this period, the company has seen a lot of positive changes under Bill Gates. Many newer versions were introduced and lots of updates were available for the customers as well.

The new Windows 8 is also expected to be tentatively launched during the same period as that of the surface tablets. That is not all. The next few days are going to be fairly busy for Microsoft. Apart from what has been mentioned above, there is the refurbished phone software also likely to make its way to the market.

As far as the Windows 8 is concerned, Microsoft plans to send a copy of the OS to its hardware partners. They can have a look at it earlier than the others. The copies will be sent anytime in the first week of the next month. The more revamped version can then be brought in the market towards the end of October.
