LG Optimus L3 E405 Features and Specifications

Unfortunately, although dual-SIM is a feature some of you might be interested in, you should know that the LG Optimus L3 E405 doesn’t come with dual-SIM standby or active dual-SIM. Instead, you get a “convenient button to instantly change the active SIM-card to make calls”. In other words, you can fit two SIM cards under the phone’s hood, but only use one at a time.

Network:

Operating frequency bands of any mobile phone is the key part of its specification. The supported frequency bands only determine whether a certain handset is compatible with a certain network carrier. The operating frequency brands of this phone in 2G network are GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900, in the 3G network are HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100.

Body and Display:

The dimensions of the phone are 102.6 x 61.6 x 11.9 mm. It weighs about 119 grams. The type of the touch screen is TFT capacitive touch screen with 256K colours. Capacitive touch screens work by recognizing the electrical properties of the human body instead of pressure and generally we can’t use stylus in capacitive touch screens and so handwriting recognition is not allowed in capacitive touch screens. But capacitive touch screens are more sensitive than resistive touch screens.

The screen size is 3.2 inches with approximately 125 ppi pixel density. Pixel density refers to the concentration of pixels on a particular display, measured in pixels per inch (ppi). Pixel density is calculated by dividing the diagonal pixel resolution of a display by its diagonal size. The screen resolution of the phone is 240 x 320 pixels.

It has multitouch feature also. Multitouch refers to the ability of a touch sensing surface to recognize the presence of two or more points of contact with the touch sensing surface. The constant tracking of the multiple points allows the mobile phone interface to recognize gestures, which enable advanced functionality such as pinch-to-zoom.

Memory:

The phone comes with a microSD card slot. The external memory can be extended up to 32GB. The internal memory of the phone is also good. It comes with 1GB internal memory. It also comes with 384MB Random Access Memory. The features of the phonebook include Unlimited entries, Caller groups, Multiple numbers per contact, Search by both first and last name, Picture ID, Ring ID etc.

Connectivity:

LG Optimus L3 E405 utilizes both EDGE and GPRS technologies in order to connect to cellular networks. But it is easy to get access to Internet through both Wi-Fi networks as well as HSPDA connections. It has the facility of Bluetooth connection and micro USB which help to connect with other hardware devices directly or indirectly. NFC is not available.

Camera:

The set has a basic low resolution camera. It comes with 3.15 Megapixel primary camera. The camera has the resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. The picture quality is not so impressive. The features of the camera include auto focus, geo-tagging etc. There is no secondary camera on the front to make video calls.

OS:

OS is an infrastructure operating component of a smartphone. It is the vital component of a smartphone as it controls all the basic operations of a smartphone. This phone comes with Android OS, v2.3.6 (Gingerbread).

CPU, Chipset and GPU:

The CPU is 800 MHz Cortex A5. The processor is the main computing component of a phone and is a major factor when it comes to the overall speed of the device. Some powerful smartphones use dual core and quad core processors. The GPU of the phone is Adreno 200. It comes with Qualcomm MSM7225A Snapdragon Chipset.

Sensors, Radio, GPS and Java:

The phone has sensors like Accelerometer, proximity and compass. GPS is also available with A-GPS support. Global Positioning System is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather, anywhere on or near the Earth, where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. Java is available via Java MIDP emulator. It has Stereo FM radio.

Key Features:

The model is available in two colours – Black and White. It supports microSIM card. The key features of the phone include Dual SIM, SNS integration, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, MP4/H.264/H.263/WMV player, MP3/WAV/WMA/eAAC+ player, Document viewer, Organizer, Voice memo, Predictive text input etc.

Battery:

The phone is powered by standard Li-Ion 1540 mAh battery. The stand by time provided by the battery is up to 600 hours both in 2G and 3G networks. The talk time is up to 12 hours 30 minutes in 2G networks and up to 10 hours in 3G networks.

Market Status:

This model was announced on January, 2012. It was released on July, 2012.

The dual sim feature for this mobile is not comfortable...We can use just one sim at the time and other sim remains inactive...Do not like this...The LG mobiles are not much good in the mobiles market...They do not have a good camera also.In the price of this..We can have another good mobile...You gave a nice info adi...Thanks..
