Sodas are a culprit too. Of late, if you drank too many sodas or diet cokes and Pepsi, you are prone to heartburns that lead to acid reflux. Keep away from such acidic beverages. Pick up plain water instead of sodas.

Fried food is a best friend of acid reflux. High in saturated fats and bad carbohydrates, fried foods should be off your food list if you suffer from frequent acid refluxes and gastric problems. You will surely burp less if you are off fried foods, soda s and chocolates. Sadly, those seem to be the essence of comfort foods.

Alcohol is a bad relative if you want to keep away acid reflux. Alcohol only worsens acid reflux and heartburn symptoms. The esophagus muscle relaxes when you consume alcohol. As a result, you become a victim of acid reflux. Whoever boasts of being an alcoholic sadly remains ignorant to this simple logic. Why in the world would you want to get an acid reflux and even pay for it?

Full fat dairy products and meats also cause acid refluxes . Substitute full fat cheese and butter with low fat options. Lean protein is a better ingredient to cure acid refluxes. Coffee is a lifesaver for many but sadly, the best friend of acid reflux and heartburns. One or two cups of coffee a day is not harmful but do not go overboard with your caffeine addiction. Drink plenty of water before and after a coffee. It helps to reduce the symptoms of acid reflux. When you drink coffee on an empty stomach, it is easy to have an acid reflux. Drink some water before picking up that innocent mug of caffeine.

Do not starve or fast for several hours. Do not forget to drink water at regular intervals. All these will help to reduce acid reflux symptoms. Here is a list of foods that help to control acid reflux. These are all acid reflux safe foods. They help to control the symptoms of acid reflux.

Fruits like fresh papaya, apples, banana and even fresh apple juice can help to alleviate acid reflux. Baked potato, beans, broccoli can also prevent heartburns and acid reflux. Goat cheese, low fat cheese and yogurt can soothe the heartburn, throat burn and acidity. Rice and cereal can also help with reducing acidity and reflux. In India, Eno Salt is a great remedy for acid reflux, heartburn and indigestion. Within 30-50 seconds, you get one final burp and you get a total relief.

Due to many protective mechanisms, food and acid in stomach does not travel in reverse direction into the esophagus. When acid from the stomach enters up into the Esophagus, the condition i known as acid reflux.

The acid reflux disease is also known as gastroesophageal reflux disease. If acid reflux symptoms happen more than twice a week, then it is better to consult the doctor (gastroenterologist) for acid reflux disease.
