A review of canvio slim portable hard drive, which was released recently by Toshiba.

         

Introduction


Toshiba Cavio slim is the first smallest hard drive introduced in the marketplace. The smallest portable hard drive with just thickness 9 mm can be procured from computer accessories shops or can be ordered online through official product website. The product was released on September 24, 2012. The drive is available with a capacity of 500 GB .

Design


• This drive has a slim and sleek brushed aluminum design. It is easy to be carried anywhere without problems with its slim design. It is very helpful for those using ultra digital notebooks.
• The length, weight and height of the drive are 107mm, 75mm, and 9mm respectively.

• The weight of the drive is just 150gm.

Backup Software


• The drive comes with NTI® Backup Now EZâ„¢ software , which scans the computer automatically.

• The software is easy to use. It also recommends the best backup schemes for the pc.

• One has the option to backup a file, folder or the whole data.

• The software automatically saves the changes made on the computer.

• There is no risk of losing any data due to automatic and scheduled backup by the software.

• The software also helps to recover the data easily. Just a single click on restore option can recover data, which could be a file, folder or can restore all the data.

• The drive can be protected with a password to store the data securely.

• The drive is compatible with Mac operating system due to NTFS driver pre loaded on it.

• It also supports Mac OS®, Tiger®, Leopard®, Snow Leopard® and Lion® and does not require reformatting whereas the older versions of portable drives require reformatting to support Mac operating system.
