Sleep deprivation is a health problem. Often, changes in lifestyle will help in inducing sleep easily. Read below to know how you can get sleep easily.


Sleep is very important to all beings on earth. Sleep deprivation leads to fatigue, ill health and disease. There are many people who suffer from insomnia. They are always very tired and lazy. They are not able to concentrate on work or perform their duties properly. Such people suffer in their life and often do not know the real reason. A healthy person needs a minimum of six hours of sleep. A reduction in this time is the main cause of all sleep related problems. There are diseases related to sleep such as sleep apnea, insomnia, sleep walking etc; I am giving below some quick advice to get a good night’s sleep.

Time schedule

People should stick to a timetable for sleep. It is not right to sleep at different times day after day. The body is like a machine and it will not understand the changes in sleep schedule. So, if a person were to sleep at the same time each day, then he or she will not find it difficult to go to sleep at all.

Bedroom environment

The place of sleep is also very important; the bedroom should be a place of quiet. It should not be full of clothes, strewn books, and old newspapers, old clothes etc; the room should have minimum furniture, perfect ambiance, cool atmosphere and peace. The paint also decides the sleep pattern. Cool shades enhance sleep.

Eat well before the time to sleep

A full stomach will not help induce sleep. So, it is better to eat well before the time to lie down. A little walk after supper will also help induce sleep. Listening to music and reading a book are other light activities that help in inducing sleep.

A fresh body

I know this seems strange. You might wonder why I am indicating fresh when all you want is just to lie down and get some rest. However, sleep will elude you if your body is sweaty, grimy and dirty. A quick shower or body bath will help in rejuvenating your body and help you get a refreshing sleep.

Time tested methods to induce sleep include drinking a glass of warm milk, soaking your feet in warm water and consuming herbal teas.
