Remember, December Begins with World AIDS Day

December 06, 2012  by: Paulose  Points: 15   Category: Health    Views: 337

Another World day has come to think of the evils of uncontrolled sex. The fruits of love are misused by the uncontrolled lust of the modern lifestyle. Who ever thought that this fatal evil will spread so fast at an epidemic speed?

Aiming at an “AIDS-Free Generation through working together”, universal world is reminded of another World AIDS Day observed on the first day of December. It is an anguish ambition of the world to find all the people of this earth free from AIDS, the so-called sexual disease.

Where was this AIDS decades ago? Why is it spreading all over the world so fast at such an epidemic speed? Why are the sexually transmitted diseases(STD) on the increase, both in number and types?

What is AIDS and HIV?

Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome(AIDS) is caused by Human Immunodeficiency Virus(HIV) infection. Major transmission of the deadly virus HIV, which leads to AIDS is spread through sexual intercourse. In the initial stage of the infection it may start with a flu-like illness. It is followed for a long time even without any outward symptom. As it progresses, people become less immuned and more infected with many complications.

Is sex out of control in the modern lifestyle?

Although the number of people dying of AIDS have decreased due to modern treatments, the number of people affected by AIDS is ever increasing. Perversions of lust and unbridled sexual contacts are spreading the disease more and more. It is a challenge to the commercial world and media who are particular only about their profit.

Why is AIDS spreading at an epidemic speed?

Diseases spread by sexual contact are more difficult to control. One of the main reasons is that people affected by it do not want to expose it outside or talk about it. There is always a sense of shame and guilt. Many people who are not aware or motivated do not seek proper treatment. They are not ready even for a diagnostic test to know if infected. AIDS does not stop with the person affected. From the bitter experience of the past few decades, the world has understood that HIV is the cause of AIDS and that it can devastate families, communities and even the whole country.

How to control the epidemic spread of AIDS?

1) Sexual awareness and insisting moral values have become an essential need in the modern lifestyle. Prevention and proper education are very important.

2) Global movement of people in the modern world should be monitored not to increase the spread of HIV. Public awareness and global concern of the governments only can do this.

3) Preventive measures in behavior, protected sex, use of injection needles, etc. have to be insisted by stronger government laws.

4) Compassion towards the AIDS affected people is also a must. They should not be isolated. Rather they must be encouraged to get treatment and to involve in public activities.

AIDS/HIV is a global threat. World AIDS day of this year, 2012, calls for the global attention to “Work Together for an AIDS-Free Generation”. It is a day to spread the awareness on the deadliness of AIDS and to take constructive steps to prevent it by all possible ways. It is a day of coming together of all global people for the greater good of the World’s public health.
