Tribes are our forefather. Uros tribe is one of them. They like to live in self made floating islands.

Uros tribes
Uros is tribes of a small country Peru of South America. Uros is ancient tribes. They are living for more than one thousand years. Legends said that uros believe that they are owner and lake and water. Uros did not feel cold because they believed that their blood black. Uros also believes that they are children of Sun. "pukinas and uro in mother tongue of uros. But they are not using these. But still they like to follow some old customs.
House of Uros-floating islands
Living arrangement of tribes is extremely unique in the world. Uros peoples spend their whole life on self-made floating islands. They made floating island for the protection from other tribes.,
These islands were built on Titicaca Lake. Titicaca lack is largest Lake of South America. It provides adequate protection to the people of uros tribes. This lake is separate from main land and it is also 3000 meters above from sea level. I Titicaca lake have about 40 small floating island and one large central one which acts as the focal point of the uros tribes. This island retains a watchtower almost entirely constructed of reeds,
Art of creating floating islands
Tribe's people called tortoa to these islands; Raw material for islands is reeds, which grow on the banks of the lake. Reeds are flexible material. After dried out these they make its large bundles. With these bundles they made boats and islands. Uros used boats of reeds to move from mainland to other place in time of crises. ,
Creating Tortora Island is an art and uros peoples are master of this art. They create these with care. To develop islands 2m thick layers interwoven of reed's root. ,To provide anchorage to islands in lack, large logs are drilled in the base of the lake. ,Ropes are attached to these logs provide stability to the island. But this system of giving stability is not last long, because the reed leaves rot quite frequently, so it required to be replaced, about three-four times a year for each island. But the floating structure itself has enough strong. The life of this structure may be last for 3 to 4 decades.
Social life of Uros ,,
Half population of Uros tribe, nearly 500 people, who prefer to live the same ancient way. Uros are today endowed, though in small numbers. By adding some modern amenities uros given new looks to its floating islands. To meet requirement of power they installed Solar panels on the reed homes. ,Uros used gadgets such as television sets. Uros tribes also have a radio station on islands, which broadcasts for several hours during the day. ,
Uros have a couple of schools for the education of their children. ,Way of education is traditional. Main purpose of education is to preserve the uros, tribe's culture. ,
Uros people have not modern cooker on their islands, because they cannot use open flame. For cooking they used their tradition technique. Food is cooked with fires placed on piles of stones. A small island nearby large one is created for the toilet purpose. Reeds can absorb waste properly. With this waste uros makes fertilizer for crops. They also use reed for making pain killer iodine and reed's flower for bru coffee,
Source of earning of Uros
Besides forming tourism is also source of earring for the uros. ,Large number of inquisitive visitors flock to the island each year to observe and enjoy the unique way of life. Some uros family has the guest room in their home for the tourists. They perform special dance of tribes at night and also invite visitors to dress-up and join in. Lake Titicaca, floating islands and Uros tribes is best one destination to visit. Have a visit Titicaca and enjoy spending a night on floating island with uros.,
